Hi to all the ladies - I had my nails done a week ago with this new varnish from America and have to say that it is brilliant! There is not one chip and I have been busy with all my usual household things! It's a sort of cross between normal varnish and gels but goes on like varnish! I can't believe it still looks pristine! It was £20 and I have to go back in 3 weeks to have it soaked off but will definitely have it done with shellac for evermore! However, at this stage, I don't know how it will react to mozzie repellent and probably will still take those plastic gloves to protect it! I am impressed to say the least!

Wow Ele 56, sounds brilliant! I will have to give that a try as normally nail varnish lasts about 30 seconds on me! Also have to agree with the mozzie spray/paint stripper, it even took all of the pink dye out of my shoulder bag and ended up ruining a brand new cream top!

I booked a manicure to start my new job that required my nails to be manicured. I was told about Shellac and that it would last 2 1/2 weeks. I was so impressed with how quick it dried ...I was able to reach immediately into my bag to get my money to pay and they didn't smudge!

There ends my praise I'm afraid. I was careful to keep them in good condition for my first day at work..no gardening, gloves on when washing up and defiantly no scrubbing! 9 days later and its started to peel off! I hadn't even started work! It was another week to go for my follow up appointment and no time to get to the shop to have it professional removed so I had to buy Asotone (paint stripper) to get the rest off.

Maybe I was unlucky but I was not impressed.

I'm having this done for the first time next week! I can't wait. Everything I've heard from friends and co-workers who have had it done has been positive. I'm only having my fingernails done, becuase it would add a good deal more to my pedicure to have my toes done too.

Well they used to make old 78 records out of shellac and they were certainly hard wearing!!!
