I posted back in October we had our small boat (Maria) and engine taken from San Stef NW Corfu as did several other owners, to date it has never been found, very sad, as my husband, a local Greek cannot afford another one in today's economy due to lack of work - we will probably not be going fishing or over to the Diapontian islands for a while. I do hope you have better luck, its such a shame for everyone and yes as some said we should have not left the boat in the harbour but taken it home each time. We have learnt a costly lesson, but my husband being a local didn't think it would happen to him!!

Oh it so sad this is now happening in Corfu, our boat was on the land of a friend, its only an old one but the motor was good and we only bought it last year so my husband could go fishing, we are going to the police though because a Greek friend said if it was used in drug related or any other criminal offence it would still be registered in our name.

We always drill through the clamp plate and the transom and pass a couple of large bolts through with double locknuts and large washers to complete the job.
Not impossible to remove of course but only with proper tools.

My boat was broken into last year in Ipsos, they took the fuel tanks and lines.

Yesterday someone even stole the rope that we secure the protective cover with on our car from the car park in Doukades. Im beginning to feel uneasy as we also had our electric cool box stolen last year from unlocked boot in car.
