This happened to me a few times, in fact I later found out that the post office in our village which is a proper post office (not the Kafeneion), closes at 1.30pm and the Courier from Roda was trying to deliver when P.O. was closed so my items where returned to Amazon on 3 different occassions. I now just order 1 item at a time and this seems to work as they come with the normal post service.

All our post goes to Karousades and is then picked up by our local postman. None of the expected parcels need to go by courier. Of course we get all our bills on time but we're having a nightmare with the rest of it.

Not that it helps in the least with your current problems, but when I've had parcels sent in I've always asked the sender to include my phone number on the address label.
More than once I've had calls from courier services (despite the fact my parcels were sent via the postal service not a courier) to say that my items had arrived in their depot but they could not deliver them to my home, so please could I come and get them! A small inconvenience, but better than complete non delivery.

We very rarely have mail delivered to our home. We almost always go and collect it. Most of the post is scattered over the floor of the PO! The postman has often told us we have no mail and we've spotted something for us in the heap!

We do the same as Bill. Always get them to put the 'phone number on it in large letters. As we don't have a 'proper' address they normally call us when they get to the square and I go up to meet them. They often won't leave things when we are out as it requires a signature so it goes back to Tzavros post office or the courier.

Are you able to get a P.O.Box Trisa? Our postman won't come up the hill to our house (even though I have seen him park opposite on his motorbike to go shooting!!). Since I have had a P.O.Box I have had no problems with receiving post.

My regular post all comes via Karousades. As I explained above, I have had several parcels whose journey started off within the normal UK postal system NOT a courier service, but somehow ended up with a Greek courier, in fact the one that Lesley Ann mentions in Roda.
I suspect (though may be entirely wrong) that your parcels may also have found their way to the courier rather than your local PO and made it no further except as a return journey.
As an aside, I also have a regular delivery of magazines from the Greek mainland via the normal postal system. Karousades PO sends a slip of paper advising me of their arrival at the PO and I then have to go to Karousades to collect them. I have to take the slip with me and sign it on receipt of the parcel, which may be the reason I have to go and get them. However, given they're only an A4 sized package it surprising that our local postie can't bring them to our village and get me to sign the slip there.
