First trip into town for a couple of months ...Lidl for Jasmine rice, spaghetti, tinned tuna and sardines. A few places to sort out paperwork [beauracracy related] and then M&S for Hilary ...I took a double espresso at the small cafe next to the shrine whilst she payed homage.
Next on to the pie shop in Guildford Street. Turkey and mushroom pie and two helpings of chicken/spinach and parmesan pie eaten on the benches in the square with the sun full on.
Then onto 'Chrissies' for a take away meal to reheat for dinner when we got home ...meatballs in tomato sauce with oven potatoes and rice with spinnach and mint [can't fault it] ...stopped at the marine outboard shop along the port road to get a few parts for our outboard engine and headed back to Kassiopi for a final coffee in Jasmines before heading home ...such small achievements tell the story of living here in winter!!

We did the same in England this Tuesday. Free bus to Nottingham (OAPS) for shopping then walked in the sunshine as such a nice day. No admin problems other than national census which I filled in online in about 10 minutes, so then went out in the evening for a meal as we were late back to cook a meal. I had homemade beef in ale pie and Angie had prawn salad with new pototoes and we both had a couple of pints of real beer and then a brandy coffee. Total price £21.31

Next time do try the spinach pie, or any pie, from The White Tower, about 50 metres down road to harbour from San Rocco- easily spotted by the people queuing outside- they must be the best in town

Sounds divine, especially as I am off work with a banging head no voice and a chest that should just not belong to me. Roll on June when we can have a bit of the same. Until then keep us going with these little gems, you too Graham, got my bus pass and only used it once cause still working, but intend to give it some welly when I finish this year. lol Ann xxx

Made a nice lemon meringue pie yesterday, and had a piece with a cup of tea, on the balcony in the afternoon, while listening to the sheeps and goats in the field down by our house.

LOL Ray, I wish it did run like that, cost of petrol this season is going to cause a few problems, lucky we have a set of oars on the boat and of course I could always get some excercise by 'flippering' it along .
All the best ...John

The date for filling out the census is not till the 27th March. There is a section regarding any visitors staying at your house on that date that has to be filled in. Can't answer why you can fill in online prior to that date...maybe that's for those with psychic powers

Graham I completed mine online at the weekend ... got a bit worried but found this from the census.gov website
When do I do it?
Census day is 27 March 2011 and you will receive your questionnaire in the middle of March. You will need to complete your questionnaire on or around this date so that we can take a snapshot of the population as it stands on one day – to give a consistent picture for the whole country.
The answers you give should be about the people living or staying with you on that day, even if you fill in your questionnaire before, on, or after 27 March 2011. You will need to complete it online, or fill in the paper questionnaire and send it back as soon as you have completed it.
Thanks for clearing that up Angela. It's does beg the question though, how could anyone possibly know for sure who will be staying/living in the house on a date in the furure. The only sure way of having accurate info collated is to have the forms filled in on or after the date in question.
Apologies for going off original topic.

Hmm must be something about March - we went out to a nearby pub with out friends on Tuesday, the inn was offering a St Patrick's menu - only thing was they were only serving from Sunday to Tuesday not on St Patrick's Day It was salmon in a whiskey and cream sauce, scollops and white pudding with pea puree, steak and guinness pie with colcannon and leeks in a creamy sauce followed by emerald pie (lime and meringue) with creme fraiche and an Irish coffee - us four greedy guts ate the lot The pre-holiday diet starts Monday
