Thank you Elliemay
It's all getting so close now.
Can't wait to get on that 06.10 flight from Stansted to Corfu next Fiday with a gin and tonic on the way.(don't touch spirits at any other time but the G & T on the flight has become the start of my holidays) then a nice cold Mythos at the Port while we wait for the Hydrofoil

We are off to Paxos tomorrow and of course absolutely dreading it!!! We have put ourselves through this Paxos 'thing' about 15 times now - still, never mind the first Mythos and a G&T at the Roxi will help us to adjust and sunshine will be a great bonus too. One more sleep! Jenny

Well we have to wait until September BUT we cannot wait to read all your lengthy reports on our beloved island. Is Colin working in Loggos now? Will need to know so hubby can get his curry. Just can't wait to read all your reports!! Give our best to the girls at the Mambo Bar, hope they are still there along with their Mum. Nonios in Lakka is another favourite along with so many other places, must exercise patience!!

Colin didn't go to Loggos in the end. Not sure where he is at the moment, will report when I know. The season has got off to a slow start, especially in Lakka where the 'roadworks' and resulting dust and holes prevented many places from opening.
I too have to wait for Nephew fix until September.

I was starting to get a bit giddy thinking about my trip so I checked and it is 38 days, or 912 hors to go. So I really can get a bit silly now, and drive everyone bonkers at work with count down in days, not weeks.
I ordered a couple of books for holiday reading, fully intending to keep them away, out of sight so I was not tempted at all and determined not to even peep at them. Having read a review of In the Dolphins Wake I sneaked a quick peek at the first pages. Darn it there was a description of being lost walking in Paxos!!! How tempting to finish it now. I will have to hand it over for safe keeping to prevent any futher peeks.
Now, how much suncream do I have and what was the name of that mossie repellent I was recommended...

Hi everyone. I've become addicted to reading this site and have decided I can wait no longer to visit Paxos which has been on my 'must visit' list for a long time. We set out from Gatwick on 5th September [only 4 weeks!] at 14.30 which. I realise means an overnight stop on Corfu and not reach Paxos till following day. This is disappointing as at the time of booking with Olympic I paid extra for an earlier flight so as to avoid this. They advised me of the change of flight times just days after I made the booking, which makes me wonder if the earlier flight was ever available? However we are staying for 2 weeks [at the Bastas] which means we can better absorb the delay than if we had only one week, and as the holiday is an incredible bargain we really can't complain and we are looking forward to it so much. Is anybody else travelling out on the same day/flight? or has anybody returned from Paxos recently using the same flight times [our return flight to Gatwick is scheduled to depart Corfu at 20.40] as any info about transfers would be very welcome. I've learned loads about the island already from following all the posts here over the last couple of months and will be ordering the Bleasdale book and map as recommended, but any further info/advise for us first time visitors will be welcome. We already know we will love Paxos and don't want to miss out on any of it. Thanks Jane and Rich

Jane and Rich we fly from Gatwick on the 5th of September with Monarch. We will be staying near Gaios and know you will enjoy your holiday at Lakka. Lots of nice restaurants to visit and lovely people to look after you.
We have stayed overnight in Corfu Town but were very near the ferry terminal and did not get a lot of sleep as it seems the waterfront never sleeps. Transfers have never been a problem, quite interesting driving to the port with the narrow roads and the amazing number of vehicles in the streets. But once you set foot on Paxos that is all left behind and the only thing to do is "relax".
Happy hols might bump into you, you will no doubt recognise my Norfok accent, unmistakable I'm afraid!
