Can anyone tell me the distance and give directions from Sidari to Acharavi, we intend to get up early and walk it if possible!

Exit Sidari at crossroads at top of main strip, turn left towards Roda and follow the road all way through Roda and onto Acharavi. I would guess it is approx 9 miles.

I'm sure you can get a bus; the one via Kassioppi will go through Acharavi. These are cheap.

Directions are easy, about 12 K east from Sidari on the main road. Some of the journey, for instance from Roda to Acharavi, can be done along the beach

The road can be busy, and hot!!!

Hi lizcon,
Sidari to Acharavi is a route I know well, by car!
The distance between resorts might be as stated by members, but, it might feel double or even treble the distance on foot
If your starting point is the Sidari cross roads (the supermarket) the walk is mostly up hill until you reach the Stylias bar and grill room on your left, I suggest you stop there for a rest and some refreshment, the views are glorious.
Down hill for a while until your reach the Magic Meze restaurant on the right, more refreshments might not be required just yet, but a good place for another rest.

Walking down hill again, you will come to the village of Karousades, once more on your right, a kafenion as you enter the village, if too soon for more refreshments a few tavernas on your left as you pass the village.

Downhill at first, but for every downhill stretch of road heading towards Roda there is an uphill struggle, the road does even out a fair bit with the help of some nice hotels and accommodations with pools to help you complete your walk.
Once through the Roda Cross Roads, you can continue without too much effort into Acharavi.
Lots of bars and eating/resting places also a lovely patisserie and bakers shop.

Depending on the month, your age and fitness levels, you should find your walk a very interesting experience.
Enjoy

From Sidari as far as Ag Ioannis along the beach & then up the old road to outskirts of Karousades, short stretch of main road then cut across down to Astrakeri, and again along the beach to Agnos (you'll have to go inland a bit here until outskirts of Roda - then on the beach again all the way to Acharavi.

A much more scenic (& a bit longer!) route - but worth it.

DCV, only because our house is in that neck of the woods and we pass them often by car, with the exception of two or three that we stop off at for some light refreshment after doing the weekly shop. Our fresh meat etc we pop into the Coke A Cola fridge---then stay as long as we like to admire the views

LOL, I have to admit I did not even notice the hills, sorry!!! Coming from a part of Gloucestershire where even our drive is 100 yards up a 1 in 4, I have always thought of the main road as being rather level LOL It obviously isn't but I suppose it depends on what you are used to

I would suggest a bus for the return journey!!!

Susie, I only remember the up hill and down dale experience between Sidari to Acharavi because of the gear changes
My leg muscles are well protected and I hate getting my shoes dusty

We tried to go the opposite way last year from Acharavi to Sidari but it was so hot, unshaded and dusty that by the time we got to Roda we gratefully jumped into a taxi for the rest of the way!

Hahahahaha Hmmm, right... (Straightens face and tries to look serious before bursting out laughing again...)

Obviously we have a new Maggy on the boards. This one cannot possibly be my drinking pal Maggy who has an in depth knowledge of every watering hole between Afionas and Nymfes (and probably further too...)

Meanwhile, I also agree, the route that Orchard suggests will be wonderfully scenic, although the road up from Ag Iannis to the main road is quite steep and narrow in places, so be careful, and DO take water and a sun hat (sorry if I'm trying to teach you to suck eggs!)
