6-30 am just gone to car and its only -6 ... yesterday -12 day before -10 Almost took my vest of so warm...
But seriously though in UK airports in termoil although Manchester open ... but spare a thought for others its OK so lets say 50% stuck there are going on holiday to the sun Yes and I can see a few smiling thinking serves em right should wait till summer ....BUT give a thought for the 1000s who are coming home to see loved ones that work abroad or live in foriegn parts whose only contact with family is the Christmas break and this year it was a bit longer for UK folk as most have Monday/Tuesday off as well .... but again if people work in Europe they dont do bank holidays so Monday/Tuesday will be normal working days for those countries so its the getting back as well if the cold weather still here

As I posted elsewhere yesterday, we had the daughter of friends with us over the weekend. She was on her way back to Switzerland from Loughborough university for Christmas. Unfortunately, Fridays flight from Luton was cancelled as was the replacement on Saturday. After that the earliest Easyjet flight is Wednesday. Fortunately, she managed to get out through Heathrow on BA yesterday - with Eurostar fully booked, we were contemplating a drive to Switzerland!

Dublin Airport is closed today (Tuesday) until 8am tomorrow. My daughter is supposed to be travelling from there tomorrow back to the U.K. The flight is early afternoon, so maybe things could be moving by then. It is only a small aircraft they come on (you know the sort - outside loo and take turns to sit in seat thats not broken), so perhaps with a bit of luck they might get away. At least they live in Dublin so they can always get back home if they have to.
Fingers crossed!
