Lets say your favourite resort was closed down forever ... and where is it? Ours is Vitalades (Lefkimmi ...ish )
Have you been elsewhere on the island you would possibly stay in (CORFU)?
Ours would be St George south or Roda in the north of the island. The one place we wouldnt stay is Paleo having had so many bad experiences there prices being the main moan

It would be Vitalades Brian to see what all the fuss is about . I do intend to drive there (get husband to) one day as we have never been south but just never find the time seeing friends sunbathing etc but will get there one day.

I think I'd still go for The Village Feel
Although we would visit the resorts still, here are my favourites, in no particular order, Sidari as it grows on you plus love the Kafeneon there! San Stefanos North west! Acharavi best Souvlaki and good internet connection Agios Gordios and Pelelekas in the Ropa Valley and Kassiopi.
The villages I would stay in are --- Sinarades, Avliotes, Episkepsi, Nymfes and Cavaluri, again in no particular order, but best of all Karousades

Have stayed in Ipsos, Kassiopi, Roda, Ag Spiridon, St George South and St Stef NW. Would like to stay in Kalami and Acharavi. To be honest, with one or two exceptions, we would consider anywhere on the island; it keeps our perspective of the island fresh to stay in different places every few years.

Over the years we've stayed at Dassia, Agios Stephanos (NW), Agios Georgios, Kanoni and Benitses. Some of the best times we've had have been when we've stayed in the town and travelled to different beaches during the day. There's something about Corfu town that keeps drawing me back since I stayed with friends there for a month back in 1984. Shame the apartments have become so expensive to buy!
