We were thinking about going out to supper this evening but have decided to stay at home and raid the freezer instead as it is so wet and dark. Am I the only person on the island to have put our central heating on for a bit tonight (it feels more damp than cold)?

It really is horrible today but still warm enough to be fine without heating. We did however decide not to have a walk up the kafenion as we normally go between showers and there havn't been any breaks in the rain today.
I just checked the air con controls which assure me it's 21 degrees in the house.

How blooming dare they, Jaybird!!! Goodness that made me laugh. I remember a tourist asking me on a flight back to the UK why we had put them in a hotel in Athens when everyone spoke Greek!

Been down to the old stone bit of the building. Felt the damp a lot in there. Very different to the new built bit which seems very dry. Air con remotes say same temp in stone bit but feels much colder due to damper air.

Probably, not the right thread but here is something to make you laugh and warm you up...I was walking through the harbour in Kassiopi, as I noticed a group of people chatting and pointing towards the 13th century castle earwigging as I walked past I heard one of the party (a young blonde) say "that is one of those old wrecks you can buy cheaply and do up".
While listening to a group of young girls planning a trip to Albania at the bar, one young lady piped up "do they all really have blonde hair and wierd eyes"...hope I don't need to explain that one.
While serving breakfast at the bar I offered a customer Red or Brown sauce the answer I recieved "white please"
Countless more...

It has felt very damp the last few days, but not cold enough for us to turn the heating on or fire up the heating. We do have the dehumidifiers on drying out the air. It has prompted us to put the new electric blanket on the bed though.
If anyone has air con installed, the Greek machines have a setting which has a teardrop icon on the remote...this is a dehumidify setting that does not heat the air, but it will feel warmer as the air will be dryer.
This morning I put on a thin long sleeved jumper for the first time as I felt chilly...but then had to take it off as soon as I had eaten my bowl of porridge with honey and cinnamon!
