Hi pool here! Ater reading the reply's to my post about the cruelty to the turtles on one of the Greek islands one of the reply,s was very kindly sent from Rocky and Bill who said that some turtles came on to the beaches on Kefalonia. My wife and I would one day like to visit Kefalonia for a holiday after hearing some good reports on how beautiful it is. We would like to stay at Skala having seen pictures of it, seeing it on google earth reading posts where people have said it is the best place on the island to stay and have said how wonderful it is, but if we found out that there were turtles on Skala's beach at any time it would put us right of the idea. Have any of the members of the Corfu web site any knowledge of this if so any info would be greatfully received. Many thanks pool!

According to the Katelios Group the nesting areas for the turtles on Kefalonia are:
Mounda beach is the main sea turtle nesting beach of Kefalonia.
Skala beach
Koroni beach
Lefkas beach
Sisia and surrounding beaches
Lourdas and other south western beaches
Lixouri area beaches
I'm intrigued though Pool, why would the turtles put you off visiting? Not knocking your choice in the least, just wondering why

Hi pool here! To your question Rocky and Bill I wouldn't want to be even a small part of harming the turtles unless there was a guarantee that nesting areas were strictly out of bounds to the holiday makers, but many thanks for the reply's anyway.
