Just checked in online for our flight to Corfu & the return journey with JET 2. It was mentioned on this site that there is no express check in at the Corfu airport & even someone had a bit of confusion with the airport staff? Is this still the case that there isnt a quick check in desk & you have to join the queue and go through the procedure again when leaving Corfu?

Certainly EJ's printed boarding passes are not acceptable to Corfu security staff. They will send you to the check-in desk and you will be given one of the traditional card boarding passes.
If you have hand luggage and get to the airport 45 minutes before your flight it's not a problem as all the queues of people checking luggage have gone by then.
Don't know about Jet2 but suspect the above scenario will be the same.

We returned on the 26th June, didn't bother showing our on line boarding passes at Corfu, joined the queue for check in and were issued with the standard boarding pass, just as quick in my opinion. Two check in desks open that moved very quickly.
Would add that you join the security queue ASAP as that was huge and appeared to have a few glitches in it due to passengers not wanting their goodies confiscated.
I had my doubts about assisted boarding at Corfu airport, but was quite surprised that it was as good as Manchester
Assuming JET 2 check in will be the same as Easyjet concerning boarding passes?

Michelle, in fact the check in attendant gave me back my printed off easy jet tickets without even looking at them! Said she didn't need them, went by the details of our passports to confirm we were on her list!

All airline check ins are the same in Corfu wether you have an online boarding pass or not as there is only the one luggage scanner and belt for the whole airport!
We came back with Jet2 this time and when we got to the airport there was only 1 person in the check in queue and nobody at the luggage scanner!!
When we got on the plane there were only 24 passengers so we each had a full row of seats to ourselves.
Heaven.

The reason the on-line check-in does'nt work at Corfu airport is that the security/passport control dont have the equipment to read the barcode printed on the boarding pass as they do at Uk airports.
When EJ first offered this service we were just waived through security and passport control, at the departure gate they just tore off the bottom section and gave us the normal stub that you get from the usual boarding card which they had already printed off in advance.
By the way just to confirm previouse posts, we returned today, and it was as stated, you have to check in as normal, but there were no queues atall just wander up and check in. Simple!!

Thanks Bob. At last a feasible explanation.
The fact that they accepted the printed passes last year,
and changed this year, for no apparent reason has lead to this confusion. This is exacerbated by the Corfu security staff telling me it's a change introduced by EJ.
EJ could certainly be a little quicker with the explanation. The fact it's so simple makes me wonder why they are still pontificating.

On todays Corfu check-in, I noticed that the girl swiped our passports through a reader, I dont know if this is new or I just havent payed attention previously. I only noticed this time because Wendy's didn't register and the girl had to punch in the numbers on the keyboard.

Oh dear - I paid extra for airport check in with jet2 when I booked the flights last year, as I was advised online check in would cause massive confusion at Corfu airport and safer to do it the old fashioned way!
Have jet2 been OK? Never flown with them before. We're going out of East Midlands as the flight times are brilliant - 08.00 out and 14.15 return.
