I'm arriving for my lucky 7th holiday to Corfu at approx 1.30am on Monday. I need to hire a vehicle from the airport (intending to book online today) but can anyone tell me which car hire companies will be open at that time of the morning? If they are all closed can anyone tell me what would happen about collecting a pre-booked vehicle?
Many thanks!
Carole

Hi there, we've used Value Plus for years. You can e-mail Sophie and Yiannis for a no obligation quote on info(at)corfucarrentals.com They both speak excellent English and will be able to advise you. I'm pretty sure that's the correct e-mail, but you can check it on Value Plus website. Good Luck. Moyra

If you prebook your car hire they will be waiting for you to arrive at the airport no problem. We have used several compnaies and all been reliable. Quality of cars is the main difference we have found. Value plus tend to be older cars with plenty of mileage. We deal with Emilios at Nissaki holidays dot com. He and his two sons are brilliant. Can't fault them. Good English and very helpful. Pay on collection no deposit required. All insurance included. Cars all good condition with necessary bits, spare tyre etc.info(at)nissakiholidays.com

Sorry to disagree but never had an "old" car with Value Plus.
Also Yannis at Easter just took delivery of a lot of brand new cars.

We were "moved" to another company by Value Plus last summer, even though we had pre-booked well in advance. This was our first experience of Value Plus, and we were a little perturbed at the time. We could only pay by cash too.
We did use them again in April this year and we had great service. Yiannis delivered the car himself, the car was great.
We plan to use them again in August, just got to pre-book it.

Thanks for reminding me about Valueplus car rentals,I've got a quote from another firm for our trip in Oct & now have emailed valuecar rentals & they have quoted me a hundred euros less than the original firm, money better in my pocket than the other firms.
October can't come soon enough.

Value plus every time!
The cars are clean, modern, and less than three seasons old!
Yiannis NEVER turns his mobile phone off, hence he can be contacted 24 hours a day if one has a problem.
We hire their cars for very long durations 8/10 weeks at a time throughout the year, if we weren't happy with the service they provide we would spend our cash elsewhere.
The PLUS in their company name means many things including a helping hand when needs must, eg. we were told that if for any reason my husband needed medical attention (wont go into details) that we were to ring Yiannis and he would collect us from our house and get us to the hospital in Corfu Town, they go the extra mile every time!

On the day of our journey to our horror could not find my husband's driving licence and never having driven abroad myself, I really did not want to drive in the mountains. Emailed Sophia from East Midlands Airport to explain/beg for help. She responded immediately (with a "don't panic" - LOL)and assured us everything would be okay. We followed her advice by making one call to the DVLA with numbers she provided. By the time of our arrival at Corfu, her and Yannis had it all sorted - thankfully meaning I didn't have to drive and my husband could.
We were met at the airport by Yannis himself who was friendly and helpful. Cases carried for us to the car. The car itself was only five weeks old and brilliant in every way. Like was mentioned above he gave us his mobile number which would be on 24/7 for any difficulties.
Most pleasant car hire company we have ever come across and will certainly always use them in future. As Maggy said "the extra mile".

We used Value Plus in June this year. Car was delivered and uplifted from the villa - no problems at all.
We hired a Jimny Jeep and I think hubby is converted. He loved the Jeep, the service was excellent and the price good. Well done Value Plus, we will use you again.

We used Value Plus for the first time this year, it was also the first time we had a hire car for the full duration of the holiday, pick up at the airport, leave in resort (Kalami). We contacted several companies and went with Value Plus in the end because, in addition to being the cheapest, they were happy to accept payment on arrival. That was important to us as the exchange rate my bank would have used for an online payment and the transaction charges they would have imposed made that option very unattractive.
Our incoming flight was an hour late which meant that we landed at 10.30 pm rather than 9.30 pm and I was wondering if they would wait, they did not know us and we hadn't paid yet after all. No problem, they were waiting for us as arranged. Next time we are looking for car hire on Corfu we will be contacting Value Plus first.

Hi all, after reading all the positive comments about Value Plus we have decided to book with them for September this year (been on website and prices are very good) can anybody tell me which is the best way to pay i.e. by credit card in advance or credit card on arrival or cash on arrival?
Thanks

Sorry jrk,not sure what you mean!
Do you mean -- a returning customer each stay?
Or, hiring a car at intervals during your stay?
In our experience of long stay durations 8/10 weeks, I don't think Value Plus can be beaten on price, yes we have shopped around for other quotes from other companies and there is no comparison!

I mean hiring cars one week or two weeks continuously at intervals over the year adding up to around 12 weeks in total over a year. This clear now?

I saved euros 160 (and all other things being exactly equal). Maggy, as the Romans would say, Caveat viator,
or something like that!

Are there no other car rental companies in Corfu - I am sure Value plus are super - but it reads almost suspicious if NO other car hire companies are available? What is the comparison?
Any other advice?

Hi Purple Sue
There are several other car hire companies, both local and international, operating on Corfu. They are not difficult to find, googling 'car hire Corfu' should suffice. After the company we chose, Agni Travel and Top Cars came closest to meeting our needs. We did not try any of the international companies.
