It'll be our first time visiting AG in September, staying at Irene's, could forum members let me know their favourite tavernas in the resort. Cheers Doog.

Hi Doog. I am staying at Irenes first week in September. I agree with Nigels selection, especially Argo very homely and friendly. As a single traveller I have found in the past that you tend to be ignored in Sebastians and seated out of sight, must be an embarrasment to them, foods good though. Enjoy

For us it's Theodoros which is on the beach and great for sunset watching. Sebastian's for mummy joining in with the singing on bouziki nights. Loads more places to try. Our fourth time this year and haven't had a poor meal yet.
You will enjoy.

Thalassa and Theodoros for us. Made tentative enquiries about having our wedding reception in Thalassa next year.

It is the small places that make Agios Gordios so special, without them it could be just any other resort. One place I enjoy is only a cafe/bar in the main street but does loverly home made food. Visit Nikki's and enjoy and meal sitting in their garden.

Thalassa (fabulous Kokonisto - beef stew with cheese melted on the top). Recommended it so much that 4 friends visited when were there last year and all 6 of us had it, delicous! It's probably best value too. They also do amazing wood oven cooked pizzas which are also great value. The Mexican is not too bad if you get fed up with Greek fayre. Try Sea Breeze for Greek nights, but anywhere along the boardwalk is fabulous for watching those amazing sunsets! Don't forget too that the family who run Irene's have a BBQ night on which is great!

We didn't really rate the Mexican but others seem to like it. If you find the cash is running out quicker than expected then the kebab shop towards the beach is superb. Giros are the best.

I hope that the grill bar at the end of the beach road opposite the old location of Alex in the Garden is open this year. As far as I am concerned they are the best and cheapest in the resort. I always have a Gyros Pitta and they remember that mine is with "NO CHIPS". If it is late in the day, do not leave it too late. They will carry over nothing to the next day so if you do not buy it, some lucky dog will enjoy it at the end of the day.

We have been to AG every year since 1994.
Loads of excellent places to try, all time favourites are Stevens on the Hill, Alexis Restaurant & Bar (opposite Spiros supermarket), and Theodorus (on the Beach front).
A warm welcome assured at each place, and great food.
We are due out 5th July - cannot wait.
Enjoy

We are still working our way round the village, but adore Angelica's home cooked meals at the Angelica Hotel and memorable Greek nights with a fantastic BBQ. Thalassa for lunch and evening cocktails watching the sun go down. Ahh bliss! Alexis is another favourite as well as Argo. As has been said before, there is an abundance of choice to suit all tastes and we have never had a bad meal in all the years we've been going to AG. Just a pity we won't be there this year. Hope everyone has a fabulous time.
