I've just been reading through postings new and recent on the General Comments Forum. Those Corfu guys get stuck into each other with their bitching don't they?
What a pleasant bunch we have on the Paxos Forum.
I would like to think that may be something to do with the Islands influence on us all and that we have to make an extra effort to reach our Island of dreams.

I've seen a lot of message boards/forums and been a member of a few, but I've never come across a more polite/friendly forum as this one.
Arguements are inevitable on forums, what could be friendly banter in conversation is often seen as argueing in text form, as there is no way of telling expression or tone of voice.
I also think this volcano might be making people a bit on edge. I'm just staying positive about it, 2 months for it all to clear off!

Now Malcy you are really making me angry calling us Corfu guys the bitching ones!!!
I'm just kidding.... Paxos is lovely and with its smaller size it is likely a closer community than Corfu, for both locals and regular guests, and no doubt that's reflected in its forum as well. That's great!
'Us Corfiots' are with more souls, hence more diversity, more opinions, and sometimes more passionate arguments. But it also gives a larger variety of subjects and inputs, mostly friendly and often very interesting to read.
It can't really be very bad when Paxifist (or is it Paxiots) also sometimes honor us with a reading visit, as you just revealed. You just cought us on a sunless day I guess.

Of course it's more friendly. Apart from the mood-enhancing natural beauty and ambience, you have to be aware that, if you offend anyone, you may bump into them at any time or know someone who will fall out with you because of it.
I prefer to think that Paxos animosity is an oxymoron.
"Never was heard a discouraging word".
I may be an old dreamer but I'm happier that way.
Cynisism is left on the 'plane.

I like to think that Paxos has such a laidback atmosphere that its visitors either have in the first place, or quickly adopt when they get there - and in most cases you're stuck with it for life! Paxositis - the art of doing nothing and making it last all day

"Paxositis" - I think it is something that you creeps up on you the first time you visit the Island. You don't realise you have it until you get home. Then you have a problem - how long can you go before your next 'fix'
I was a normal punk with many piercings (some places I cannot mention on here) with a red mohican and the rest of the 'uniform' when I first came to Paxos about 9 years ago. Look at my Avatar, you can see what it has done for me!!!
I have a problem now that I have ruffled the feathers of Daniel & Sylvia the 'Corfiots' but they don't know that I am arriving on Corfu on the 4th June and that I have a cunning plan! I am going to do what Victoria Beckam does and wear a pair of sunglases - That I bought on Corfu.
