Hi, we are thinking of 1 week 16th April in the south of Corfu around Vitalathes. Are there tavernas open at this time of year, and what kind of weather to expect, never been so early any information would be useful, thanks. lorac.

Weather unreliable, could be fantastic or could be cold and wet. Think Vitalades is rather a quiet resort to find much open at that time of year, but I may be wrong

We visited 26th April 1982 for Easter, and it was pleasant during the day, ie t shirt and jeans, we also managed a couple of hours on the beach, but nights were chilly, you certainly need a thick cardigan or a fleece. Unless of course global warming has made it much warmer now in Corfu!!

We are going 2nd week in April a week earlier than last year but hope to have some decent weather. Will be cool at night but so what. Will still enjoy everything we like about Corfu!

Weather wise be prepared, could be sunny or rain. Pack a warm jacket for the evening because it can be chilly especially near to the sea. Spring is a wonderful time of year to see Corfu, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

As everyone has said, go with an open mind and 'four-seasons' clothes and you won't be disappointed or cold! The weather is really hit and miss but when it's wet, boy is it wet!
With Greek Easter the same as ours on 4th April a few tavernas will have opened for that but pretty sure they will close again until the beginning of May.
