Hi Bazz,

I also have pale skin but each year when i go to Corfu i buy my sun lotion there. It is called 'carroten' and i think it can be bought in all different factors. The carrot extract in it really helps you to tan. It is water resistant and contains vitamin A. I went really brown last year and it lasted for ages, in fact i've still got the marks now (can't be bad)!

Hi Caroline04,

I also have pale skin although I have dark hair and eyes I don't tan very well at all.  I don't burn either but I would like to come home with a bit of a tan this year.  I like the sound of your 'Carroten' sun lotion, where can you buy it?  Is it readily available in most resorts?  Do its high factors still let you tan or would you have to use below factor 10 like most of the carrot oil lotions?

Cheers!

Hi Natalie,

You can buy that sun lotion in just about every shop in corfu, its everywhere.

The high factor still lets you tan, it just stops your skin from burning. If your pale i would use factor 30 for the first few days then maybe change to a 10 or 15 after that, depending on how intense the sun is, if you use a 30 for the 2 weeks your there and use it properly, you will still get a good tan!

Hi Natalie,

Although i went to Corfu at the beginning of October, it was 30 degrees and really hot in the day time. I have got dark hair and eyes so it would probably be similar for you. I actually used factor 2 dry oil towards the end but just made sure i put loads on regularly. It obviously depends what time of year you are going!

Have a great time!

Natalie, if I were you, stay with the lotion ,not the oil, as I found it stained EVERYTHING..... the body shop do their own version of it ,and I found it to be ok.   Lizzi

When peeps try and impress me at work with their travels to Goa/Kenya/New Zealand I dont get bothered at all as I know my little paradise is only three hours away and I am guaranteed the most laid back hospitable time (last visit to Majorca, me and my kid was spat on for daring to share a local ladies umbrella).

I love Corfu. I love the food, the people and the marvelous memories it holds, I could not bear to go anywhere else as I would be wondering what  was missing in AsproKavos/Sidari.

The best sun lotion I have tried is P20.You put it on an hour before you go out in the sun and you get all day protection with a factor 20 and also get an amazing tan without burning or peeling. Its not greasy and you dont get it running in your eyes when you sweat!

Its £10 a bottle but I love the stuff!

Ever since my first visit to Corfu I have been allergic to the sun.  I used to go on holiday to Majorca every year and I could sit in the sun all day and at the worst I would burn, no sign of an allergy, (I think this is because the sun is so much stronger in Greece).

I get small bumps on my skin where my skin is exposed to the sun.  Every year since discovering this I have had to wear high factor allergy suntan lotion like Puiz Buin, take allergy tablets everyday and put allergy cream on at night.  This helps, but for the first week it won’t go away and is really annoying and when you get home with a tan you have white marks where the bumps were!  It isn’t a heat rash because any areas covered up are fine but i don’t go on holiday to such a lovely place like Corfu to cover up, i might as well stay in England!!!  The worst bit is I love the sun.

I was wondering if anyone else suffers with this and how they cope.  Any tips would be appreciated.
