The new Royal Ionian real ale, but not in the height of summer. Oh, and don't think of taking any home on the plane as it is a 'live' beer that needs to be kept in the fridge and is likely to go bang on the plane. Not to be recommended.

I am reliably informed by by a man called DT Dave that Amstel gets better after the 4th bottle whereas Mythos is the best when drunk with your feet in the sea watching the sun go down. However DT Dave has been known to mistake Meths for Mythos so maybe he's not so reliable.

After saying I hate beer!
On the way to Avliotes last year, we came upon what looked like a shack, it had a few workers sitting outside under the vines, we stopped to investigate!
It was a help your self set up as the owner was not around, one of the workers told us where to find the glasses and to take a beer out of the fridge!
Alas they didn't stock wine, so I had to make do with a large Amstel!
As we watched the birds twittering and swooping and sometimes dive bombing us, I never noticed the beer I hate going down, in fact I was persuaded by Mr M to have another bottle, but settled for half a glass from his bottle!
He was well pleased, as the cost of a delightful afternoon was 2euros in total!

Mr Sun loves the Ionian beer which we have affectionately re-named 1 Onion beer! The brewery in Arillas is open every evening between 7pm and 9pm. You can go along for a tasting... it takes some time of course deciding which will be your favourite... One day we were in there just checking you understand... and Dr. Yannis was in there enjoying a little taste when he declared that he would personally confirm that the beer is a cure all... he said that you can treat the following ailments... bites, stings, conjunctivitus and piles!!!! Hilarious!! I will leave it to you to work out how this miracle cure would have to be applied to treat said ailments!

I consider the Ionian brews "a beer to sit down with", a treat to consciously enjoy every sip. Ionian only uses natural ingredients and allows these beers to mature for 30 days. That's why they taste so good and yes they offer more healthwise and also contain vitamins.
Soon Ionian will be coming out with a wheat bear, for which they will offer a special branded beer glass as well. Those who can enjoy a German 'weizenbier' will certainly love this.
Mythos is the best cure for a big thirst and it is a loyal party-friend, even the next morning.
Amstel is OK, but it hardly resembles the Amstel originally brewed in Holland. I believe Alpha comes from the same brewery with some ingredients added.
All major beer brands apply artificial flavouring and the beer only gets a few days to develop before it gets bottled.
