I dont know about coaches from Athens, but we have opted to fly to Brindisi Italy with Ryan air our flights were about £10 each then get the ferry to corfu and thats about 30euros (I think). its about a 6 hour ferry but a lot faster than a coach. Look the ferry time tables up on google thay run all the tim.

Hope this helps

Chris

Chris, I think you will find the ferry crossing from Brindisi is more like 12 to 13 hour crossing. Have you thought about the new AirSea Service from Brindisi to Gouvia Marina, flight time 40 minutes, at about €140 return.

Ben, the coach from Athens leaves fairly early in the morning, taking about 13 hours all told including the ferry crossing. I will try and find the thread on this for you.

Regards to both.

Thanks for that, I read some place that it was six hours....... However, the ferrys are so nice not at all like our little p&o's we take to france, I still think thats what we will do. Unless this is incorrect as well?. I will look into the flights cheers.

thanks all, a bit worried about the long ferry crossing from Italy.  The ferries seem to quite scarce in Feb.  Thought it may be due to rough conditions / cancellations.

By the way. For Northerners like myself National express are running an offer until 6th march.  £9 pounds any distance.  £18 return to any London airport.  Must be cheaper than the car.

Hi Ben,

There are two morning coaches (7a.m. and 10a.m.) from Athens to Corfu and also an evening one, about 8 p.m. I think, but I'm not certain on that one.  They leave from the Central Bus Station which in turn is linked by bus from central Athens and the airport.  The journey used to take 10 hours.  Probably it's a bit less now that there is a bridge from Rio to Antirio (used to be a ferry crossing).  It is also possible to get the coach to Igoumenitsa which covers exactly the same journey but doesn't actually drive you on to the ferry across to Corfu.  There is a website for the coach company (KTEL) which comes up if you type it into Google.

Good luck with your journey

Susanna

There are about 3 or 4 buses per day from Athens to Igoumenitsa and it takes 6 hours NOT 12 or 13!!

The bus company is Ktel and there is a web site with full timetables and fares.

I've taken the jouney twice and both times it took just over 10 hours.

Hi

A freinds daughter did the trip just before Christmas and yes - an overnight trip, certainly in excess of 10 hours.
