I have bought citric acid from one of the bigger supermarkets; it was with the herbs and spices. It is an essential ingredient in my home made lemonade!

There is cider vinegar in many shops, but in little touristy bottles at silly prices. I wanted to pickle some gherkins and we found white wine vinegar in Lidl. I now need some more, so I'll let you know where I get it.

Steve,
The last pickling vinegar I found in large bottles by sheer chance, was in a small supermarket on your right just as you entered Platanus, we were on our way to the spring.

Thanks Kath, I know the one, it's where the 'Konaki' wine is sold from. As it happens, Marcato in Sidari have a small range of vinegars - tarragon, cider, white wine (lefko) and one other. All in 500ml bottles, but nothing bigger.

White vinegar and white wine vinegar are not the same. I'm looking for big jugs of white vinegar.
Yes, and if you read through the replies properly you'll see that Cannock Girl has responded to your query, second post down. She suggests "Marketta supermarkets Sidari Champion in Corfu town". The subject just seems to have moved on.

Chill out, Rocky ; I live over an hour drive from Sidar, so if I have to spend 6 Euros in gas to get there, is sort of defeat the purpose, and I didn't know there was a Champion in Corfu town. I've live here for about 8 months, and never saw it, I only know the Carrefour and they don't have any.

Hi Chrysilla,
perhaps if you had given your location and how far you were prepared to travel to obtain your white vinegar ,you may have gotten a nearer location to purchase it from.
Afterall your question was where can I buy big jugs of white vinigar from!
Good luck!

I'm perfectly chilled thanks (and I'm Bill, not Rocky, but you weren't to know that). I was trying to be helpful and point out that someone had answered your question. Your earlier quote inferred that you were hadn't had an answer to it. And as Maggy says, you didn't say what area you're in.
Dimitris Markets are, if not the same as Marketo, very closely akin. There are several throughout the island so maybe you will find white vinegar one of their branches. If not, try AB Supermarkets if they're not too far away for you. They have a good selection of other European items as well as Greek manufactured products and I often find things there that aren't availble elsewhere.
