That's horrendous! I know Gatwick is cheaper, but I've booked a daytime flight for £170 for 6th June through www.cheapestflights.co.uk give them a try and best of luck.

Monday morning flight departing either 4th or 11th July at 05.15 arrive Corfu 10.55. Leaving Corfu 14 days later at 21.50 arrive Glasgow 23.45 for a grand total of £1016. We've done this flight lots of times in the past year with no delays or hassle.
If you want to be greedy, take a look at their 21 & 28 night prices, they're pretty good too!

I have just checked 4 & 11 July on www.exelairways.com and it is coming up at £1016 for 4th & 11 July (£5 a flight cheaper than freedom!) If you can wait until August prices plummet!

Yes, thats the price I got too Chris, it's usually always £5-10 cheaper with Excel than Freedomflights. 4th & 11th July are peak Scottish holiday times hence the dearer price compared to August.

Thank you! I was trying to work that one out, I fly from Bristol and whilst there was a rise in the cost from Excel during July it was nothing of the magnitude of that from Glasgow! I was going to check Gatwick and others later but will not bother now.. Good old supply and demand huh!

Interestingly, Britannia, and one or two others, used to offer Saturday or Sunday flights from Birmingham or Manchester to CFU, but there don't seem to be any available for 2005. A real pain as we want to go with a relative who works in a school, and want to go over the May break, however she only gets a week off so we need weekend flights!
Has anyone got any ideas (non-direct flights are not really an option, due to cost and total journey times for a 1 week holiday).
Cheers

Try Thomas Cook flights, they may have a late friday departure from Manchester around 23.00'ish. It's maybe the next best thing if you cannot find any Sat/Sun departures.

Thanks everyone, yes July is peak time in Scotland and unfortunately we are looking at the 18th which is the start of the 'Glasgow Fair' traditionally a local holiday which is the busiest fortnight for the airport!
We are not very flexible because of accommodation availabilty and of course school holidays, so will keep looking, Thomson unfortunately don't fly on a Monday from Glasgow and Excel are showing no availabilty on their own site but Freedomflights seem to be the best on offer.
I'll need a holiday after this

Just tried for the 18th July and looks like there'e no availability, it may be they are holding back these dates because its a busy time to see what packages they can fill first.
Anyone got any other suggestions of where to look.

Much to my surprise, Lynn booked next summers flights yesterday. Flying out of Stanstead on Excell to Corfu on 25th July for 3 weeks - £294 per person, including taxes, charges and a group booking fee.

It looks like it is the return flight that is a problem, you can get a 7 night or one way flight from Excel departing on 18 July, but not a 14 night. The joke is the one way flight is more expensive than the 7 night stay.
Other than that all I can see so far is Thomas Cook offering flights on 18 July for 14 nights at £319
If I see anything else anytime I will message you

Let me guess the flight number XLA1614, they have not got a plane for this flight, they sub contract it out, this year Islandsflug done the flight at 1710 when it was on time, double check with Excel,

Excel Airways(www.excelairways.com) have a new route from Newcastle to Corfu starting May 2005. Whats so good about it is that they depart on a Friday and a Monday, thus there are lots of lovely different permutations of durations. The Friday departure is particularly good as it leaves at 20.00hrs and on the dates that I've checked in June the price is cheaper for the Friday dep than the Monday dep.
Now I just have to decide on whether to take 21 or 23 nights.....

Eileen.
You might also take into account that Friday is a quieter day at Corfu airport, so not so manic.
