totally agree with dogbones about smiling youngsters on corfu and similar places.

why is that?   whats the difference between them and the scouling kids in britain, all trying to look threatening ?

parental control?, to many do gooders telling us the kids have nothing to do ? why ?

to be honest the unruly kids and lack of law and order in general,  is one of the main reasons we are looking at moving abroad.

before anyone jumps down my throat,...THEE main reason is the weather

Hi Brian

Don't forget, Corfu can have more rain than Manchester in the winter so its not all sunshine, although I must admit every time I look at Nathan's webcam during the winter it never looks that bad.

LOL

Whilst out with my dog this morning, I thought that the only thing I'll really miss when in Corfu will be the English countryside and the friendliness of other "doggie" walkers. (Strange though how you always seem to know the name of the dog and seldom that of their owner )

No doubt I will find other beautifull places to walk once I'm out there, that's if I can get over the thought of snakes hanging from trees waiting to "get" you

I lived through 2 Corfu winters.

It can be VERY miserable.  I always recommend that people rent a property through a winter/whole year before buying and making the commitment.  It's easy to say "well the summer is nice" - living a winter is NOTHING like being on holiday.

Kind Regards

Kev

Hi brian c

On the message board earlier in the year, I think it was under the heading SNAKESSSSS, someone mentioned a walk through the olive groves and a hooded viper hanging from a tree. It was probably a one off, still makes you think, scary

Sue H...

Every Saturday during the winter (Oct to end April) we have a walk somewhere on the island. Anyone can join in. We have had up to 13 different nationalities and anything from 4 to 40 people. And several dogs who usually get on very well together. Perhaps you'd like to join us to get to know the doggy people? You might be able to arrange something privately for the rest of the week.

Thanks Hilary, unfortunatly I'm stuck in the UK at least until my son finishes college next year. However I may change my Sept hol next year to Oct so that I can take part and get to know people and some great walks. I won't be looking to move for at least another a year, maybe slightly longer as I have the possibility of redundancy which I don't want to miss out on. Time will soon pass
