Hi all,

Did you hear of the new sea-plane route proposed linking Corfu and Brindisi.

A number of articles on the web and in UK papers saying something like the following:

New seaplane service: AirSea Lines links the main Greek Islands - Corfu, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Paxos and Lefkada. There will also be a service to Brindisi in Italy. Fares start from £24.

The web site is :

www.airsealines.com

However, it seems they are running behind schedule and they are now not posting any details until mid September.

Regards,

Why not just go to Athens & fly easyjet - I have booked seats for less than 100 euros return + 140 euros to athens - just book in advance.

I cant belive it is that much cheaper via Italy & more hassle.

Hi

This subject came up little while ago, but I can't find the earlier postings at the moment.

I found the website at www.airsealines.com/   Hope this helps.

Once operating, particularly if the aircraft operate out of the Brindisi/Bari area, this might provide a cheaper alternative to the current routes into the Ionian if traveling independantly.  The unfortunatle thing about the Easyjet flight to Athens is that it doesn't readily tie up with the Olympic flight to Corfu in terms of timing and the inter island flight can be expensive for a 45 minute flight!  This is particularly so when you consider that the extension is only about £20 if flying Olympic from Heathrow - and you can check your bags all the way through without having to go through reclaim at Athens.

I haven't looked for any schedules for the seaplanes yet, but the operational restrictions in bad weather might make the service a little unpredictable during the winter months.

All the posts in this thread relating to the transport of dogs to Corfu can now now be found in this forum under the topic:

Transporting dogs by air to Corfu.

This will make it easier for subsequent searchers to locate the information. Apologies if a couple of the posts left here still make some reference to the doggy questions!

Ryanair Stansted to Brindisi can be booked for a little as GBP 3.99 + tax (We are taking that route next week) - Fragline ferry to Corfu - the Seaplane link could be very attractive.
