Hi Julia

Thats ok I like helping the charity.

I notice your photo of the little black & white cat, he is one of the new ones on the website looking for a sponsor isnt he (or she)? He looks dreadfully ill. How are his little legs?

The little cats leg is broken in two places. It is now in a type of splint and he has also had most of his tail removed which was badly damaged and was going rotten. He other leg was grazed and is being treated daily. He is getting around, albiet slowly, and is eating and drinking well now. We need to get him neutered soon as the females start to come into season now and if he wanders off in search of girlfriends we fear he will not survive with his damaged leg.

Hi Emma,

He is a lovely little chap, isn't he.  Looks so vulnerable!  I have selected him as my first avatar from fthe new arrivals because it shows how hard life can be and also where people's money goes.

One of our members has kindly decided that he deserves a little more help to get through life and has paid for his neutering!  I will put the cat's new name up later.

Hi Graham & Julia

Poor little guy he looks so weak and poorly. I want to give him a big hug - but probably not a good idea with his legs and him being feral!

Thanks for the 3 people who have bought prints.  Dont forget 50% of the money from the prints will go to help little cats like this.

My goodness they need help!  Angela had four neutered today, 3 were in early pregnancy and the fourth had an infection.  That could have turned nasty but at least now we know about it, it can be treated.

Neutering clearly has more than the obvious benefit: it also allows a brief health check of the animal too.

Thank you very much to those who have purchased the prints already.   I hope you will be delighted with your purchases, I'm sure they must look absolutely stunning in real life!

Julia

p.s Doesn't the name Felix suit the little chap!

Hi all

Emmas prints of Corfu are really nice. If you like paintings of Corfu then check the animal website out as we have more to come later. The Agni jetty was very nice and very popular the Corfu town print is proving popular too. So if you want one get your order in!!

The cats are all coming into season now and need to be neutered, we are getting as many done as possible now. If you want to help do check out the website and see all the lovely cats that are looking for sponsors.

Felix is a lucky one he will get all the treatment he needs now and he will also be neutered when his leg is a little better. He is a little cutie.

Thanks to Emma for all the support she gives to the charity.

Dear all

I was wondering what everyones favourite view is in Corfu and what you would like to see in a painted of Corfu?

Just to get an idea of what print we should put on the AAWF website next.

Are there lots of Agios Stefanos fans?

Emma

Now there's a question.  On an island that has stunning/delightful/beautiful/interesting views almost anywhere you look the possibilities are endless.

As we stay in Kalami the north east coast is the area I am most familiar with so these are the views that spring readily to mind:

Kouloura - the view north from the taverna or from the end of the harbour wall is my particular favourite but wherever you look at Kouloura there is a view worth capturing.

Kalami - I love all the views, probably because I love being there.  Perhaps the view from the end of the jetty (in almost any direction) or the view from a boat entering the bay in the dark with all the lights of Kalami twinkling as I cannot take a decent photograph of that.  Oooh!  Just remembered - the view of the village from Dimitri's Taverna (on the main road above the resort), day or night.

Kassiopi - as we leave the harbour on a boat I like the view looking back towards the town and beyond.

I like NE & NW, but I've only been visiting Corfu for the past few years. I love the Agni, Kalami, Koloura, Ag Stef type view with Albania in the distance (sometimes the mountains actually look blue which is very odd), but appreciate also places like Pelekas beach it has to be the best sunset in the world and also has the warmest sea I've ever felt, especially when the sun goes down after it has had the heat of the day - the sun actually looks like it is disappearing into the sea - take a trek over there in the early evening for a dip, its well worth the drive.

I love painting corfu town because it is so crowded and busy with buildings.

Just wondered if there is a hidden corner or gem I have missed that I should be painting!
