I'm due  to go on holiday to sidari the 14th september, however I love to have my hair done and make-up on, people always say I should do modelling and my boyfriend wants to have loads of photos taken of us especially in my bikinis, but I want to use the majority of the pictures to build a portfolio?

Can anyone recomend any make up suggestions, obvioustly not foundation because it will just melt of!!!

Thankyou

xxxxxx

Hi Ladypassion, If you have looks of a model then surely you would not need foundation?

What about the moisturisers with a self tan, they could possibly give the look that you need, or go au naturalle - maybe you could take your photos later in the day, when it cools down then you could apply foundation/powder for the required look.  You would be able to take some fantastic photos (especially with the sunset as your background)  It can get extremely hot in the daytime in corfu (even in September) I would have thought for a portfolio - the agencies would prefer to see the model's natural beauty than someone being caked in make up - If your model material then no foundation is needed xxx

Hi ladypassion

Just a tip you may already be aware of...

Avoid direct sunshine and harsh shadows. Try and find some open shade take photos on a bright but hazy/cloudy day. You often see fashion shoots which use shady areas where the sunlight is reflected into the shadow by a stretch of light sand or an adjacent white surface such as a wall - monasteries and similar buildings often have white painted floors as well which make them ideal loctions. Standing with your back to the sun and using fill-in flash gives a nice rim-light to the hair. For close-ups, the sun can be reflected into your face by holding a sheet of paper just out of camera shot - even something like an unfolded roadmap can bounce light into a shadow but avoid strongly coloured paper unless you are looking for 'special effects' photos!

Hpe this info is useful.

I wouldn't have thought you would need much make up espacially if you have your photos taken towards the end of your holiday!

I saw a magazine article about using tinted mineral based powder products rather than foundation in hot weather.  Some (like ID bare minerals) even have a built-in SPF.

btw this post is from Eileen not Ashley

On LK Today....this morning... they were discussing make for holidays/hot climates.....(oh I lead a sad life I watched it all)

And the beautician on there said...definitely no foundation....a little tinted moisuriser to even out skin tone.....a cheek tint (not powder or cream blusher , but a stain as in BeneFit make up ), and a non.clumpy waterproof mascara (they recommended Lancome...if you're feeling flush LOL).....They then applied a lip gloss with LIP COTE over it....stayed put in the pool !

They had the model sunbathe in these products, then dive into the pool.....

She looked pretty good on the camera after it...so I would say good advice
