Just returned from Arillas and we stayed at the Marvel for 2 weeks.
The hotel is basic but clean and as we only need some where to sleep and shower this is fine. The pool is very nice.
Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, orange juice, rolls butter and jam. However you can pay for a full breakfast at little cost. We did not eat at the hotel as there are so many wonderful places to eat. Our favourites are Brouklis, Thassala, Portofino and Vavilas.
The 2 brothers who run the place Kostos and Spiros are friendly enough but mostly to the people who spend all of their time at the hotel eating and drinking ie spending money !!!!
As we like to explore and spend our time on beach we felt a little bit uncomfortable at times.
I am sure you will have a lovely holiday as Arillas is a beautiful place Pauline

No problem.

The hotel only has 14 rooms and was full all the time we were there and I believe is fully booked for the summer. I think there are a lot of people who return there year after year and I would go back.

Breakfast finishes at 10.30.

Not sure about air con as we did not ask about it.

Enjoy let me know how you get on. Arillas is beautiful.

Transfer time can be anything from 3/4 hour with a very fast taxi,  to 2 1/2 hrs on a package coach if dropping of everywhere else first. Its a lovely jouney and the scenery is fantastic so if you land during the day I would recommend you use it as a sight seeing tour. Never stayed at the Marvel but have eaten there and very nice it was. Viv

Hi there Archer,

If you go to the following link you will see the location of the Marvel (Marvelous Hotel) on the map....

http://arillasmap.awardspace.com/

If you are on the tour operator transfer coach it can sometimes entail quite a lengthy and tiresome journey, but the upside is that you get to see a fair bit of north of the island.

A taxi will take you approx 45-50 minutes and will cost between 45-50 euros.

I absolutely agree with Kripiogi Girl on her recommendations for where to eat. Also directly opposite the Marvel is Captains which is owned by a lovely local family who serve the most delicious and inexpensive meals!
