But for those who really cant do without a lippy for the duration of the flight, you can take it on board with you! (I need lip balm on the flight as my lips dry up on the plane, which leads to the dreaded cold sores yuk ).
We just got back from Spain, and you can take a small poly re-sealable bag with you in your hand luggage (I used a sandwich bag) and in it you can carry lip balm, toothpaste (small tube) etc etc......as long as it's less than 100 ml in volume.
If you forget, the security staff are giving out the bags as you arrive at the queue for passport control. You show the see-through bag as you then go through passport control. If you dont declare any liquids etc in this way, they confiscate them from you as it goes through the scanner.
