You will be upgraded once you have been a member for a certain length of time and when you have enough posts under your belt. It shouldn't be too long now. The upgrade to 2 stars will give you access to the Beach but you should be able to go into the chatroom now. Are you ahving a problem getting in?

I have just changed my Avatar in the Gallery.
When I enlage it in the Gallery it is ok, but when I click twice on the picture in the Profile it is much tooooo large. What have I done wrong?

Lately I have noticed that I dont get a email notifying me of replies, i dont get the posts posted in the Agios Gordis forum (as I use to do) and the newsletter hasnt reached me either. Is there something wrong with my email here as I get other messages without problems.

Can't get into the chat room and don't know why. Don't enter very often, so it's a few months since I last tried, but have been trying several times this week, and just get blank page. Read somewhere on another post that others have had this problem and it was suggested you need to install Java Sun - I have some Java options but not that. Can you help? I am not a very clever computer person so plain and simple instructions would be appreciated!!!

I think this is something to do with 'cookies', it happens to me at work because cookies are disabled on my work PC. All you need to do is log in again and you should be fine. I have probably done this all wrong however I am actually blueyes and was having problems accessing the KAVOS forum, as Brum1285 also is, anyway I did what you suggested and logged out and then could not log back in!!! I could not remember my password (sorry) and asked for it to be emailed but never rec'd anything so the only alternative I could do was register again. HELP please, could you re-instate my original blueyes else I'll lose my stars? please advise and sorry for any troubles caused

Not really a problem, but a query that's bugging me. Why does my name not show in the list of members online when I am! I have an automatic log in, am greeted and told the number of days til my holiday (going down fast!!) but never appear in the list. Or does your own name not appear on your own computer but is on others? I know it doesn't really matter but....?
When you loged on you removed the tick in the box stating add me to the active users list. If you know your password log off then log in again and make sure the add to active users list box is ticked.

Jimmy. Nothing we can do I'm afraid. It's down to the size of the original picture you uploaded (a whopping 2576 x 1932 pixels). You need to re-size it to around 960 x 640 and then upload it again...

I scanned a paper photo and put it into my picture file. I want to add it to the gallery. I tried to upload it 5 or 6 times and got each time the message that it was successful. So I must have sent something to my gallery. However - the picture does not appear. When I try it with another picture it works. What could be wrong with the picture? In my file it looks like all the others! (I changed it from .bmp to .jpg)

Hi Rita. .You cannot change the file type by simply altering the last three letters to read .jpg. It must be reformatted properly using appropriate imaging software or try scanning it again and saving as jpg rather than a bmp file.

The gallery system creates a folder on the server to store your photos. The problem is the '&' in your member name. It causes a problem with the folder name creation. To cure this, all new members, if joining with a '&' in their requested member name, the system automatically converts it to 'and'. Hope your still following this!
OK, the easiest solution is for me to change your member name with an 'and' if you are happy for me to do this, I will make the change, but remember this when you next log in. Once the change has been made, you will be able to upload to your gallery.

I was just wondering, I have posted over 50 posts, and have been a member for almost 2 months, yet my stars still remain at 1!!! Have I been downgraded, which can happen i read?!
I have read the post about the star rating, yet thought I would still ask as I'm not totally sure of th answer!! Hi there, I hope you can clarify something for me when you have a moment. I wrote a post in answer to nmadgreek's question, "Fun things to do in Corfu" in Holiday Questions, and it came up as "Post Rejected by Filter System." Strangely it appeared to be posted while I was logged in, and not there when I returned as "guest," not logged in, though my name was there as last poster.
I logged back in and there it was. I thought maybe it was too long so I shortened it a little, but after editing the "Post Rejected" sign appeared a second time.
Not wanting to mess things up any further, I'm leaving it alone, but I'm wondering why it was rejected. If there was something offensive in it, I would like to take out whatever it was and repost. I copied it so I do have it if you don't and want me to PM it.

Hi, my problem is that i usually log on when at work and indeed this is the place that I originally registered from. But when I try to log in on my home pc it tells me that my user name / password is incorrect.
Also, in order to get more stars do you really have to just put in multiple posts like "welcome to the site" or "have a great holiday". Because that all seems a little fatuous to me and I would rather just 'post' when I have something 'relevant' or informative to say and I could be drawing my pension before 'earning' further stars.

Probably a bad time to ask about this with the new season well under way now, but is there any news on creating and editing Member Pages please?
I remember reading that Nathan was looking at a new system a while ago, but there still doesn't seem to be a way to access them. Some of the info on my page is almost 2 years out of date now and it would be nice to be able to get in and change things as I come across updates.

Hi Guys, I'm getting very frustrated I used to be able to change my text simply by selecting the sliders on the top of the reply box. Now I getthis seperate little box and it says a code I have to type in on doing this it just adds that to the start of my post??? Hi Debz - try this:-
If you want to have the fonts and colors you specify in Internet Explorer to be used for all websites, regardless of the fonts that have been set by the website designer, follow these steps.
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
On the General tab, click Accessibility.
Select the Ignore colors specified on webpages, Ignore font styles specified on webpages, and Ignore font sizes specified on webpages check boxes (all 3), and then click OK.
Then go back into the General tab and on the same line as Accessibility choose a font and a colour (If the colours are 'greyed out' click on 'use windows colours' and they should appear) click on the box at the side of 'text' and change the colour to red.
Hope this solves the problem. However if it doesn't, copy and paste the coding it's showing you and we will have a look at that.

Hi Roz. Had a quick look and the member name 'rozavalon' is still active and has the same e'mail address. Try logging out completely and then back in via the front page using your password. If this doesn't work we'll have a word with Nathan to see if he can sort it for you.

Yes, It's my home page and I'm always logged in? My names always on the list as being on line. When I click on Chat room I just get the agni top and side headers and a blank screen. ( not the screen with the little red cross mind).

Just returned from Corfu and tried to upload/download photos. All ok off old camera Fuji A360 4.1 mega pixel. Cannot do it from new camera, Fuji E900 9.0 mega pixel. Photos from this camera come out as 2mb and system wont accept over 1 mb. Is there a work round? Or, am I doing something wrong........ Got some great shots I want to share and some shots as requested by other members.
Try downloading onto your own computer first, resize them to less than 1mb, and then try again. If you still have problems have a read of the file 'Resizing Images' in our How Do I forum.

Hello admin it's me - just a query I've noticed when I'm going onto pm my avatar picture (little red x syndrome) does not show how do I rectify this problem - please can you explain to me in plain speaking idiot proof language please - I'm a bit daft with gadgetry - just look at the tears and trauma I had trying to get my ticker done lol

Sorry Michelle but we're not clear on what it is you are trying to do nor where the little red x is appearing. Can you be a little more specific with your description of the problem please?.

Yes when I PM Somebody and look in my outbox my profile picture/avatar that comes up on the site at the side does not show - although everybody who sends me messages does. Mine just displays a white box with a little red cross in the top left and corner I've tried messing about with it but no luck I'm afraid - do you understand what I mean?
Yes I do now. I assume your avatar displays everywhere else it is supposed to? Have you tried uploading your avatar again to see if that makes any difference? Can't imagine why it should show everywhere except in your PM outbox tho'

We have been having a problem uploading gifs to avatars for a few weeks now and have been quietly working in the background on a remedy.
However, having had a quick look, yours may be due to a size problem. Current restrictions place a limit of 100x100 pixels and 30kb. The one you are attempting to upload is 214x183 pixels and a massive 360kb - far too large for the system to cope with I'm afraid. (Avatar Admin)

Hope this is the right place to ask but I seem to be the only one with an 'edit' and 'delete' box, where everyone else has 'vote'. Is it something I've done, not done, or because I am a (relatively) new member? I don't expect anyone to vote for me, 'cos I haven't contributed anything but wouldn't want to be deleted, either!!

You will not see a 'vote' button on your own posts because you cannot vote for yourself. Other members will see a 'vote' button above your posts and you should be able to see a 'vote' button above theirs. Please advise if this is not the case.

I dont know if this sounds right or not..Jedi will know better...I resize most of my pichures down to 1500x1000 and they fit in ..Any higher and they get an error come come up..If this is of any help or not....Chris

The "100 Corfu photos " post was probably on Greek Life.These photos were unusual as they were taken of Corfu in all seasons. I seem to remember it was an Italian ??man who took them. Keira

Roy. How did you actually reduce the size (it does matter). You cannot just reduce the physical size of an animated gif it has to be rebuilt at a smaller size for which you need specialised software. Is this how you did it or have you just reduced the size in some other way? Changing to a jpeg as suggested earlier will only produce a static one frame image and is not what I believe you are trying to achieve.

Help please. I haven't used the chat room facility for over eighteen months. However, the other day I tried to get on to it and found that when I clicked onto the screen to "activate" nothing activated. Any solutions to this problem anyone? My PC is exactly the same as it was all those months ago.

What you see is what you've got Dave. There are ten photos in your gallery, so try uploading the missing three again making sure they conform to the size requirements. We think there's a blip in the counting coding which we are trying to sort out.

We have uploaded 12 pictures to our gallery. However we cannot view them. When we click on main gallery photos are not displayed. They have all been uploaded as JPEG as far as I can see. Can you help
I don't know of any particular problems with uploading pictures. Perhaps you could try uploading them again, one at a time, to see if that makes any difference?

Hi IVe just added a photo to my avatar and it has rotated!! IVe checked the orgonal and it was definitely portrait. IT now looks odd. Ive tried resubmitting it and it stasys the same

The picture you have used is showing in your gallery as lying on its side so that is why it is appearing in his avatar like that. I know you say that it somehow got rotated when you originally uploaded it but I have no idea how that could have happened.
I tried it myself by downloading the picture onto my laptop and then rotating it to the right way up before uploading it to my CTG gallery. I then tried it out as my avatar and it showed the right way up without any problem.
Perhaps you could try downloading it from my gallery and reloading it to your gallery to see if it rotates again - and let us know how you get on.

I have followed the instructions again and just uploaded one picture. Again nothing shows in the gallery despite getting a message so that it has been uploaded and directing me to clik on an icon to view the Gallery.
We have tried to upload pictures on a number of occassions and assumed initially it may have been restricted. Please can you investigate?
One thing I did notice was that it sais it was andys corfu gallery and not andy&lu. Could that be the problem that it is linked to someome elses?
We think it may have something to do with your log-on name as it contains an '&'. We've experienced problems like this before and members were requested to change their names to include 'and' instead. Unfortunately our real technical boffin is away at present so, when he returns, we'll ask if he can change it for you. Don't try it yourself or you may lose everything.

I used to be able to change my text simply by selecting the sliders on the top of the reply box. Now I getthis seperate little box and it says a code I have to type in on doing this it just adds that to the start of my post???
