You should visit Azores islands (Portugal) in the Atlantic ocean rather than Mediterranean to watch whales and dophins. Leo

I'm not aware of any dolphin watching boat trips - and anyway, they should be left alone

There are dolphins around Corfu - we've seen quite a few on our sailing holidays and, indeed, there was one around Kerrasia for a while a few years ago.

Best place is towards Sayaidha on the mainland (opposite Corfu town and close to the Albanian boarder).  Here the sea shallows on provides excellent fishing (and so feeding) grounds.  we saw a pod whilst in the harbour there a few years ago.

I saw a dolphin whilst having a meal one evening in Agni last year, jumping across the bay. There was a post on it, so if u do a search under "Dolphins" you might find it. I'd do you one of those link things but I havn't got a clue how to!

I haven't seen any dolphins myself, saw a "funnel" fish last year, about 7ft long, swimming just below the surface. Just pleased I was in a boat at the time, it looked spooky. Has anyone heard of these before?

Sue

hi there.... we have just come back from corfu and have never seen any dolphins until now.. they were in front of a yacht about 6 or 7 of them, it was a lovely sight and a very rare one. There are no dolphin trips that i know of, i think its just luck if you see them.      Goodluck!!

I have been searching high and low through the web pages for anything on the "Funnel" fish mentioned in the last but one post. Cannot find a thing, any one got any ideas. Thanks.

Best Wishes.

Most boat trips will suggest a possibility of viewing dolphins.

It is not a lie.

It took me 8 years and about 30 trips to see one.

Young Bongos saw dolphins whilst we ate at Agni last year too.(I didn't, too busy eating and drinking !!)

Whether they are residents or just on holiday like us, I don't know.

More on Funnel Fish please.

Yes guest i have witnessed dolphins myself in corfu but this was to the west coast where theres open ocean. Was about 15 meters deep and was on a paddle boat and there was a school of dolphins about 8 of them 10 meters away i jumped in the water and tried calling them over but no response unlike attracting a flock of great whites ! lol and whales well theres  tales of whale sightings but i wouldnt bet on it. Sue i might have an idea what a funnel fish is but i dont think they are 7 ft long lol they are usually 2 to 3 feet long are worm like very colorful and stretchy to maximum 3 feet long, now u might be talking about a moray eel they have the possibility of being that size other then that the only 2 fish that accidently might hurt a person is the well known scorpion fish very ugly and spikey mostly found in rocky beaches and the most poisonous fish is a little fish greek name is thrakena which is a sand dweller but mostly in the deep and not as common in the shallows as the scorpion fish would be in a rocky beach. Enjoy corfu swimming worryless the biggest threat is the water itself. HELLO TO EVERY1 i KNOW !
