Hello!

I'm going to Sidari for the first time on 22 August with Thomson Sun and will be staying at the Mimosa Hotel - I've been reading various forums and getting mixed messages about this hotel.

Has anyone been there recently please?  Would be grateful if you could let me know what the place is like.  I'll be with my two sons aged 10 & 12.  The brochure says the rooms have air conditioning [payable locally] so I'm hoping that's true and more importantly, that they work!!!

Also, we are doing the 'half board' option - any comments on the food?  Not bothered if the food is not wholly 'English' as would prefer to try the local dishes.

Have already noted down a few tips from here - namely "The Beauty Spot" for myself with Aqualand and the soccer school for my sons!!!

Many thanks in advance everyone.

Cheers.

Hi Jan, Have never stayed at the Mimosa, so can't comment on the air con, but i have eaten in the restaurant and it's very nice. There always seems to be something going on re entertainment, and quite often we will go there for a drink.....

We were going to stay there this year, but at the last minute found a better deal. I am sure you will have a great time.

Many thanks for your reply!

I got the holiday from Thomson's just the other day and decided to go for it and then started worrying ....

Sounds like I've done the right thing anyway, having read the comments here!

Cheers.

The Mimosa is a good hotel. the only thing you have got to watch out for is the road for the children as it leads onto the road and no pavement.

Hi Jan

Stayed at Mimosa before aircon does work and food is very good.Look out for little Spiros one of the waitors.Once met you never forget him.Ideal location .Only downside is if ur staying at the front of the hotel you may hear the bikes that roar past at night.Apart from that an excellent choice.Enjoy your holiday Jan

Thank you very much!  Great to hear from someone who's actually stayed there.

Thomson's told me I'm guaranteed a 'sea view' room but it did occur to me that there will be noise from traffic [now confirmed by you!] as the brochure said the beach was right across the road and I was planning to ask for a back room if possible when I check in.  Will take ear plugs with me just in case though!!!

Looking forward to the trip now.

Cheers.

hi,

we came back from our honeymoon at the mimosa 2 days ago.

the hotel is excellent. the air conditioning is really good it cost 28 euros plus 10 euros deposit for a week.

the food is excellent. the evening dinner is really good. waiter service at your table and 4/5 choices for starter/main and desert.

we used the swimming pool at the back of the hotel as it was quieter. we were in room 706 which is at the back.

there is a bar across the road called scorpion bar that shows all the soaps which is excellent!!!!!!

Lisa

Thank you so much for that - sounds great!  The air-con is very good value and I'm sure we'll be glad of it!

I will definitely ask for a room at the back and glad there is a quieter pool at the back.  I wasn't too thrilled when I saw the pics with the pool right by the road.

Congratulations to you both on your wedding too [you surely didn't waste time watching soaps on your honeymoon Lisa??? Tut, tut!!! LoL!]

Cheers.
