We've just got back after having a great time. Arillas was everything you all said it was but must say that the food and hospitality of Dimitri and his team at the Brouklis, was pretty outstanding.

When we arrived, he said the rooms were basic but he goes out of his way to make sure you don't want for anything, even providing a few basic essentials to make you feel at home. The rooms are cleaned almost every other day and you also get clean towels and linens at the same time.

Even though the rooms are above the taverna there was very little in the way of noise and I came home feeling very rested.

We did try a couple of the other restaurants for breakfast but must admit to eating at the Brouklis every evening. I can't recommend the stuffed pork roll highly enough.

We even received a welcome home e-mail from him when we got back which says it all really!

Four years after Alisos posted this topic - and Brouklis is still great! We've not stayed there, but we always go there for our first and last meals of the holiday and many in between as well!
Typical Greek taverna - highly recommended - and Dimitris and staff do everything in their power to make your meal enjoyable

I'll second that JanisK.
I love Brouklis. The food, the atmosphere, Dimitris & his friendly staff. You really couldn't wish for a more perfect evening.
I've never stayed at the apartments above, but I know many that have & they are highly recommended.

I've recently returned from Arillas and the first taverna that I chose to eat at was the Brouklis. The food was traditional Greek food and delicious and I ate there several nights of my holiday. I have to say the the food was excellent everywhere. I also met Janis, Barry, Joan and John there..so that was a bonus!

Sara I've just looked at your photos and I recognise your villa. I walked past it a couple of times on the way to Afionas. It is in a stunning location, you lucky people!!

We have been going to Brouklis since 19-- and the hospitality from the first time we went to now has never has always been the same even when they are really busy. We have become firm friends with Dimitris and all the family and cant wait to get back from the moment we leave. The food is always to the same very high standard, reckon we have tasted all the dishes by now. Roula has even tried new things on us and it's always been fantastic. Mustant forget to mention all the boys past & present all have been friendly and polite at all times, and all will give good advise if you dont know what to have. This may seem a bit like an advert now but would have said exactly the same years ago. Viv

We called in to Arillas to see Dimitris the first time we visited San Stefanos NW. As my husband was interested in the web-cams that he has set up on the island.

It was in the morning and no one was in the taverna so we spent a very nice time chatting to him about the web sites and other things, before we knew it it was lunch time. 3hrs later we left having found a new friend.
We call in to see him and the family each year and are made very welcome.

Will be going again in August can't wait.
