Mark,

At least for the adults, If you don't want to be bother with re-applying, I'd highly recommend the Piz Buin One day long sachets..........apply 20 minutes before sun exposure, no staining, and lasts for 8-10 hours without the need for re application (even after swimming).

Factors availabe from 4 - 30!

It is definitely available on BOGOF in Superdrug at the moment!

Hi Mark

I used the one that Trace recommended, do ou have a TJ Hughes near you, if so its only 6.99 a bottle.

I always use Soltan(boots) on the kids, my eldest has sensitive skin and is fine for her. We use at least factor 30 on them though.

Hi mark

You should look out for Parabens in the suncreme!! The are bad for you.. The are disturbing the hormones..

Try seaching the Web and read about it.

We use a suncream for our daughter recommended by the Danish " fight against canser-something.."

Hi Mark,

I recommend P20, it is a fantastic product and I have never been burnt when I have used it (except under the arm where I missed a spot) and I have been using it since 1997!  It lasts all day no matter how many times you are in and out of the water (sea and pool) or if you are doing watersports.  The only downside is that when you get out of the water and lay on your towel, it tends to turn light coloured items yellow.

However, as already posted above this year I am going to try the Piz Buin - All day long, apparently that does not turn your clothes yellow and I will be able to let you know at the end of May as I go in 10 days time!!! Yippee!!!

Another product to try is the Malibu range, which is very good, especially the after sun with insect repellant - I have never been bitten using this product, it smells nice, it goes on smoothly and it dries quickly.  If you want it to be even more affective, leave it in the fridge, it is unbearably cold, but it does the job.

Hi Mark

There's a Which? report on sun creams that you might like to read here - http://tinyurl.com/ksg7j

Whatever you decide to buy, make sure it's got a good star rating for UVA, because they are the ones that penetrate deep into the skin and cause the long-term damage - so extra important for kids!

I'd really recommend Ultrasun - it's a genuine once-a-day application and protects well even after swimming.

I've just got back from 12 days in the Caribbean, and I used it there for the first time.  Excellent golden tan and no burning at all!

The factor 20 liquid is probably the most economical to use, but keep it away from eyes; the factor 17 gel is safe with eyes.

Cheapest UK source seems to be http://www.ifsogo.com/acatalog/Ultrasun.html  whose prices include fast courier delivery.

Whatever sun factor you use do remember not to stay in the sun between 11am and 3pm when it is very hot.  Even on a cloudy day you can still get burnt.  I generally use a high factor on my son (factor 20) and on myself for the first week and then maybe a 15.  But remember to re-apply frequently.

Have a lovely time

If any of you have got a branch of Savers near you, they are selling the 100ml size Piz Buin 1 Day Long (all SPF numbers) for £4.99 each - which is less than half the price you will pay at Sainsburys, Boots etc.

I don't know how long the offer is on for.

Hi Mark.

The picture of our Great Dane is taken in Sweden - but she has been with us to Corfu!! That was great fun (we also brought her sister, so there was 2 of them) The greeks are definately NOT used to big dogs! ;-)

We also have used the P20 and it worked well for us too..

Have a nice trip!! We leave in 13 days!!!
