You need a JVM, Java Virtual Memory, and some packages do not come with this. Indeed Windows XP are updating their MSVM and taking it out because of some contract with Java Sun.
I recently had a problem where I could not get into the Chat Room, and I contacted Java Sun for help. The told me download manually JRE Offline.
Therefore go to www.java.com/en/downloads/manual.jsp and select Windows (Offline Installation). This installation file is called (j2re-1_4)2_04-Windows-i586-p-iftw.exe). This will give you all the Java files you need. (Deedee, once you have pressed download next to this it will show you through the prompts to the finish.
When prompted, choose Save, and save to your desktop, or a convenient place. Do not choose open. Double click on the downloaded installation file to start the installation. If asked to remove any previous Java installations click yes.
When finished go to Tools, then Internet Options. Click on Advanced Tab, and scroll donw to Sun Java Plug-in and make sure its enabled. Also check under the Security Tab on Internet Options by clicking Custom Level. Scroll down to Scripting and make sure that Java is enabled inside the Security Tab.
This should update your Java Script and JVM, and as I did, instantly went into the Chat Room. Any problems, give us a shout, and I will get back to you.
See you in the Chat Room.
