Yes, as said in previous replies, that is the correct one.
I take a couple after all it is usually a coupke of girls that go and we always need them for a hairdryer, straighteners, phones etc...... after we are high maintance. Ha! Ha!

For anyone that owns GHD hair straighteners, some of the imported models (including mine) have special magic plugs attached!!
Nope, I'm not joking.......a nifty little international plug is already inserted into the UK type three pin plug. By pulling the power cable firmly, the two pin connector pulls out of the larger three pin one.
Give it a try...........

Well I've pulled and I've tugged at that cable and nowt came out!
Maybe it's just the newer models that have the magic plugs? My GHD's are a few years old. (they're liable to blow up on me now that I've spoken about them!)

How on earth did we all manage before straighteners? I've had mine for about 3 years now and if I don't have time to use them my hair's a mass of frizz a few seconds after I've walked out of the door. Makes me cringe to think that I used to look like that ALL the time

I didn't know about it until a friend tipped me off. I didn't believe her because as much as I pulled and tugged, nothing happened. It took hubbys brut strength to reveal all (sounds a bit naughty)!
As I said though, I think it may only be the imported models that have this facility.

Am I using the wrong straighteners (or adapter) as no matter what I do to my mop on holiday....my hair is curly and stickin out at right angles the moment i step out of the door..despite using straightening potions and lotions....I remain wurzel gummedge...thank heavens for 'clips' dont know real name which tie up hair in a french pleat...with a sprouty bit on top...I end up after much wrestling with the hairdrier and straighteners (and much sweating!) with a barnet worse than i started out with...son (David 11) always looks at me sympathetically as i join him and his dad at the bar saying " had trouble with your hair tonight mum?" AHHH BLESS

I was exactly the same as you! The secret is finding the right combination of "products" to use. I always use a rinse-out conditioner after I wash my hair, then before I dry it I put a leave-in conditioner on and then after I've dried and straightened it I use John Frieda's Shine Shock serum for Brunettes and then hairspray.
If you think all that makes me sound high maintenance - you're dead right

Think I may be missing one stage ...leave in conditioner... does this makes big difference elaine?

I have just have just read the above posts looked at my GHD, undid the middle screw slightly, gave a firm tug and out pops a two pin plug. I never knew this, thank you everyone. It means I can charge my phone, whilst straightening my hair, FANTASTIC!!!!
Dear elizajay,
I had the same problem with frizzy hair like yourself, but once I found GHD's this all changed. I still blow dry my hair as straight as possible with my hairdryer and the nozzle (which is very important) pointing it down the hair shaft, then I get my GHD and my hair goes, very straight, very sleek and stays like this for a few days (as long it doesn't get wet). I know this posting is way off the thread, but it might help, the GHD's are well worth the price.

Hey Trace
I got a new set for crimbo (gave the old ones to my mum) and they also have the magic plug so guess both mine have been imports - both sets bought from local hair salon (I get discount).
I was scared to pull the plug off my first set and I wasn't strong enough, Andy pulled it off for me. At least you don't have to waste your travel adapters on the straighteners then!
I can't live without my GHD's and I wonder too what I must have looked like before I got them!
I can't go out without straightening my hair nowadays, but that also scares me coz of the damage I must be doing to my hair. I use the GHD oil but I still am more prone to split ends when I have been using them a lot and I need my hair trimmed quite often.
I even straightened Andy's hair (he's gonna kill me if he knows I told you all this! ) last Sunday coz he's growing it and he couldn't get it to sit so I straightened it and it looked great!
Frizzy hair probs - at home I straighten my hair with my magic GHD's and it looks great, really sleek, and it stays like that until it needs washed again or until it gets wet, but on hols its a total different story! My hair is a mess on hols and I don't give 2 hoots! lol I'm so relaxed that I can't be bothered switching the straighteners on most of the time so I go with 'beach hair' most nights....
Instructions for 'Beach Hair'
1. Wash hair, use and intense conditioner and towel dry.
2. Spritz on some sea water (fill a spray bottle up at the beach)
3. Scrunch and go!
I think it looks nice anyway, really natural and pretty.

Hey after living in Corfu for 5 months I came up with the ultimate confidtioner - you just buy the palmolive cocobutter - local corfu shop - 2.5E i think and leave it in it dries in the sun during the day it is wonderful. Good condition. Mind you I suffer from straight hair - always used to want curly. No I am happy with it - it developed a kink - is this age???

Yes I put on an intensive conditioner on (all over dry hair and then pin it up) on the days when I am just going to be sunbathing/lounging around. Sitting in the heat makes the conditioner really work its magic and when you wash your hair later its so soft and nourished.
I'll have to try the pamolive cocoabutter thing though...

Dont think I will need anything like that this week. I go today and think ill bring my feather duvet!! Well heres 3 weeks of house painting etc I presume!
See you all in the summer

I know the leave-in conditioner certainly helps on my hair. When I've stayed overnight at my daughter's and forgotten to take anything with me, I've used her straighteners (which I know cost about 4 times as much as my Remington ones, because I bought her them as a present!) and had kinky hair again within an hour.
I've also tried various straightening products, including the ubiquitous Frizz-Ease and KMS "Flat Out" which, like Kerastase is only available from salons and costs the earth. But what works best for me is a walnut sized blob of leave-in conditioner from either Charles Worthington or, even cheaper but just as effective - Sunsilk! Mind you, we're all different and what works on one person's hair won't necessarily work on someone else's. I just know that last summer was the first time I'd bothered to take my straighteners with me on holiday and it was the first time I'd ever had straight hair in Greece!

I will give it a whirl thanks Elaine ...will plug in my straighteners using my adapter (keeping on topic LOL) and try the leave in conditioner....some people have suggested just leaving it curly but it truly is not an option as bits are curly and bits are frizzy and bits are straight...so the overall effect is frankly hideous would put people off their evening meal!

I dont know if any other male members have taken a look at this thread - fascinating!! I got to the end and found my mouth was gaping with incredulity.... Never knew that hair was such an intricate subject and am resisting the urge to find Julia's straighteners to give them a tug for the magic adaptor...
The subject is worthy of a program on the Discovery Channel!!!!

Chris...of course that is Mr Elizajay taken on my birthday celebrations last night...I tried to put on the one of both of us..but any photo's of me are suddenly cursed....think you may have persuaded Lizzie Dripps to put a spell on me...I am having real trouble downloading avatars just now..but the system seemed to like the one of Paul...and as you have rightly said he doesnt suffer from curly hair or frizz problems..lucky so and so
