Hi,

Try doing a search on "driving to Corfu" I am sure there is a thread of that name either in here or in Greek Life.

Greek Ferry £600
Channel Xing £80
Tolls £250
Fuel 2000 miles at whatever mpg you get
Overnight stop £100 a pop so at least £200

It ain't cheap for sure.

Can't comment on the other values that Denis suggests, but if you avoid France and go via Germany, Austria (Brenner Pass) and Italy you can cut back no end on the tolls. Last trip we did cost 15€ in tolls. The route is around 80 miles longer than through France, but if you want to go for it without hanging about too much it is easy enough to do with one stop-over, the second night being on the ferry from Venice or Ancona.

Yes you can save on tolls. In fact you can use "A" roads and spend nothing although it will take longer.

My costs are based on going autoroute through France, Mont Blanc Tunnel and Italy to either Venice or Ancona. Ancona's about 100 miles extra. I've done Germany/Austria/Italy and France/Switzerland/Italy but prefer the Mont Blanc route. I drive straight through with no overnight stop and do have a cabin on the Greek ferry. The cabin is expensive so you can also save a lot by having a sleeping bag on deck

You pays yer money and takes yer choice.

If you want to do it as cheap as possible (2 adults)

£250 fuel
£30 tolls
£250 ferry (car with deck seating)

Take sandwiches and drinks from home
Drive straight through dont have an overnight stop

No BS I've done it :-)

PS if you need to hire a car while on Corfu you have saved that money too!
