Well Chris!! What an adventure you had at the start of your holiday.....my jaw was getting closer to the floor the more I read!!
By the time I got to the end I was laughing and though it sounds like you took it all on the chin I dont think I would have been the least amused!! Especially as we stay on Paxos and that would have meant a longer time to get to our destination!
Glad you had a good holiday though!

hi Helen thank you .....the funny thing is.....I didnt mention that on the way back to the airport...after the most lovely romantic holiday with my husband ( after all the drama...that two hundred other passengers dealt with in the true brit spirit...as you do) that only two bends on the road from Avlaki....our hire car broke down....I looked at my lovley man & said.....we couldn't ...... make this up!!!!.... at the stage I swore (very unlike me)....this made him laugh so much as.... I never ever ever swear!!!!! sorry no offence to those people who never swear

Well done Chris, it sounds like you coped with all that extremely well. Glad to hear also that your flight operator got the cruise passengers to meet up with their ship in Crete - it must have been a nightmare for the operators too.

hi Linda absolutley....our wellbeing was paramount at all times, even though we were all very tired .& at times very uncomfortable ..(we were on a Thompson flight)...with no thompson support in Brandisi our cabin crew ( cos thats who had to deal with this... with help from their various head offices) dealt with everything from inflight catering & the hotel stays at very short notice...somtimes our tour operators get some very bad press....in our case it was dealt with as best as they could. & a very well done!! to Thompson. Our safety was never in doubt all through the time, as always ...we did wish the communication was better, but it was not the norm & it will give us a tale to tell for many a drunken dinner party in the future.

Wow Chris - what a story. Good that you can laugh about it but I bet there were some angry passengers! Delays are always worse on the outward journey than homebound!
