Hi, we normally go to Crete in September and the weather is usually good. For the last 4 years we have been to Kato Stalos which is about 20 mins from Chania. It's a lovely resort with some really nice tavernas and a good beach. We usually book accommodation through freelance and it has always been superb. They have a website and I would highly recommend them as a company.

Did you stay at Rouladina's? The accomodation there is absolutely first class.

Yes we did and we are going back in 4 weeks. We have also stayed at Pavlakis apartments which are right on the beach. these too are very good although the accommodation is slightly more dated but Andonis who owns Pavlakis couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. I think all of freelances accommodation is first class.

The best one we went to was Rebbeccas house in Platanias, although all the owners are friendly if you meet them. Rebbecca used to leave us stew and cakes on the table in our kitchen if she'd been cooking. I didn't have the heart to tell her my other half is a veggie, so I put quite a bit of weight on in those 2 weeks.

Hiya C&A!
We have just booked for Georgioupolis in Crete for next June.We have stayed there four times now and our son has worked there a few times for the summer season, so it's like going home now.
World Cup in Greece! What more could I want? (except maybe 4 weeks instead of two)
Love Jackie

We stayed in Gouves last Sept around the 9th for a week and it was beach every day and short sleeves in the evenings except for the last night which needed a jumper.

Remembered & managed to find this thread & happy to say we've (at long last) booked a couple of weeks in Georgioupolis, Chania, for the last 2 weeks of September.
Many many thanks for your help.
