Yet again!Mr M decided without any pressure from me not to take his guitar with him as weight allowance was a priority for other things!
OK he can't strum tins of tuna fish or tins of Homepride curry sauce, curtain rails and all of my woolies!
After thinking I'd lost two stone in weight, juggling the hold luggage to 20 KL each (of course the weight loss was just wishful thinking)I finally informed him that we should be OK with the hold luggage!
What about my guitar he asked!!!!It's not traveling I told him!
Well I'm a little disappointed says he as I thought you would be able to fit it in!
With a face like a wet weekend because I hadn't performed one of my miracles I am now feeling a little guilty,as it's he who will be doing all of the graft in the house,I'll just be his chief cook and bottle washer, and after a hard day playing with his sand and cement I know he would like nothing better to pick up his guitar to relax with!
I'm about to go onto Easyjet and see if at this late stage I can buy extra hold weight.
If I can the next problem might be ,as we have a connecting flight with Aegean from Athens when I booked it I can't recollect any stipulations about hand or hold luggage,I would hate to be told at Athens that the guitar can't go!
If it can (please God)and it arrives in Corfu with us,he will have to leave it at the house forever as we are flying back with Thomson, then again our suitcases will be empty and we might get away with bringing the guitar home and still be within the weight limit!
I don't know! 'The Things You Do For Love'(can't remember who sang it)
'Or For A Bit Of Peace' (they're my words)

Oh Maggie a man who loves to play his guitar and cant is a sad man. Its like not having his best friend around. You may have a grumpy Mr M on your hands especially after a hard days work. There is a solution though, if you get no luck with Easyjet or its going to cost you. Then why not think about buying Mr M a guitar in corfu. Theres a shop that opened last year called Sellars in Corfu they sell new and used ones. It could be a combined birthday/chrissy pressie. This way Mr M would always have a guitar in Corfu leaving you lots of room for tuna, woolies, mayo ect on future trips. You would also have a very happy Mr M. Just a thought.

Aegean's domestic weight allowance is just 15g (it's 20g for international flights).
I am sure this has been said before, but, why not leave the tinned tuna and mayonaise in the UK- they are readily available on Corfu. It is so easy to make mayonaise it's untrue, but if you would rather buy it, most supermarkets have their own brands, on balance, the shop mayo might be a tad more expensive here, but not as much as the airlines will charge you for extra weight.
AB sell everything you could need to make a decent curry, so you could be bold and leave the Homepride sauce at home too!

My experience with Aegean is very good - I was completely overloaded at Xmas and they didn't charge me either way from Athens to Corfu so you maybe lucky.
They are pulling out all stops to nick OA business so maybe that's why!!
Good luck

Blossom's Idea is a good one Maggy. It Could be birthday/chrissy and anniversary. Well that is this year over and done with for Mr. M all pressie's rolled into one.
Then think of the things you could take over each time without worrying about the Guitar
Found this site to get Mr M in the mood with his Guitar.
Maybe he could earn a few euro's for you Maggy.

Thanks for all the advice!
We're now back to where we started!
My Dearest will borrow the guitar as he did last time!
Now Aegean has given me a problem!
15K of hold luggage As ours weighs 20K each we may have to foot the 2euro per kl penalty!
Or I will make sure we have the house deeds at hand and hope for the best!
No way am I backtracking with luggage weight again!
So will pay up cheerfully if we have to
Another solution is if I leave Mr M at home and pile the luggage on his seat
Bless
