Not been away, just working Christmas Eve. Thank you janmanessi. Waves for wind surfing and kite surfing are not those for board surfing. (the clue is wind). One of the best places in the Med for wind surfing is off S West of Lefkada. Board surfing requires waves built up over very long distances, hence those in the Pacific get wonderful surf. Being on The Atlantic, that's why the West of UK (Cornwall, N Devon, West Wales and N West Scotland) get surf. The Med is not only basically an enclosed sea but too small and too shallow to generate proper surf. What it does have is short waves generated by wind and local conditions. Sorry to upset so many people, specially at this time of year.
ps: my son and I will be out surfing over the next week if conditions are OK but at the minute things do not look good.

Windmill, I been watching wave surfers here in Australia carrying out all sorts of cut back and tube ride movements. I guess this sort of surfing is beyond the scope of Med., Greek or even (west coast) UK surfers?
