We have booked a sailing holiday in early September and will be flying to Corfu airport in the morning. As the boat will not be ready until 6pm we were thinking of travelling to Corfu town by bus, visit the town, have lunch and then travel by bus to Gouvia marina. I have not managed to find any useful information about local buses from the airport to Corfu town or to Gouvia marina and drawn a blank on luggage lockers in Corfu town. Does anybody have any information on the above?
Thanks in advance
Marco

If it were me I'd probably book a hotel for the day in town. Just google Corfu Town hotels and you'll have plenty of choice and probably not that expensive for say 9.00am to 4.00pm. You can then have use of the room for your luggage, wash and brush up and a rest.
Get cab from airport to town which is about 5 minutes and then a cab to Gouvia later in the day which will take around 15 minutes.
Enjoy sailing.

The blue bus service will take you from immediately outside the arrivals hall to San Rocco Square. They travel every half hour and the journey takes about 10 minutes. I don't know the exact cost, but under 2€ each.
From San Rocco take a number 7 bus which goes to Gouvia (and on to Dassia). Buy your ticket from the San Rocco kiosk and it will cost 1.50€, a little more if you get it on the bus. Ask the driver to let you know when you get to the Marina stop. The no 7 runs every 20 minutes until 3.30pm, after which they run half hourly.
I have no idea about safe lockers and 'left luggage' though. Sorry!

Many Thanks Rocky and Bill for such useful information. I think I found a possible luggage locker place at the new port terminal. Do you know how far it is from S. Rocco Square on foot?
