You have not answered Grahams question, do you have to pay to advertise your restaurant?

I have been reading the posts since I put this topic on the forum. As it is a new venture, I expect they will adding many locations during the winter months ready for the Summer 2009 season.
As to the question of if locations have to pay to be on the site, I would say this is the case. It is nice to see someone to take up a cudgel and produce a site covering the island. Look on this site as a BETA version, there are liable to be mistakes and be patient with them. I have already learnt of an location near where I normaly stay that I never knew existed.
I know over the coming months that I will check the site for new locations. All being well there will be places added all over the island. In your favorite area too.
Yammas, Colin.

Since some of the property owners are not aware of Internet and how they can promote their business through the web and since our target is to include all Corfu restaurants, we offer a free (trial) package for the 1st year which includes the small photo and the details(without see more). For the second year there is a “very” small charge for this package. In case that some of the owners will not pay this fee next year, then the photo & the e-mail will be removed but they will remain in the listings alphabetically below the ones who will pay the small fee.
The guide is updated weekly so you can check to see if your favorite restaurant is included in this site. As Colin said the point is to see and explore the ones that you don’t know and not the ones that you know already. I am sure that there so many restaurants that you are not aware even in your favorite area.
We are aware that the guide is not “full” but we have almost 100 entries in 2 months time which is a big number! Hopefully, until the summer will have 500 entries in the site…it sounds terrifying for us

So you pay to be on this site. Dosn't matter how good you are if you pay you are recommended so it is just an advertising site. Only people who are having difficulties would normally do this. Good tavernas in the best areas apparently dont need to advertise. Am I wrong in thinking that this has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with people who are having difficulties filling their tavernas paying to get their name mentioned. I for one would never go to a taverna that needs to attract custom this way. McDonalds?
Sorry, but the way it was represented led me to think it was to tell us about ALL tavernas and not just the ones who paid.
