Hiya
Hope you are all ok just wanted to know how many people on the website have transported there dogs to corfu only i have heard that they are not very welcome. I have been to greece about 16 times 6 times to corfu surely things have improved dog wise over the years as there are now pet shops on corfu. Also i know this sounds a bit clinical but what is the cheapest way of transporting dogs.

thanks for any info JOHN O`D / manchester

cheapest way to transport - probably in the hold of an Olympic plane that you are travelling on - as long as in an approved carrier will be charged as excess baggage

Is the hold pressurized and maintained at a reasonable temperature?

Yes there are now pet shops springing up all over the place and the Greeks love their designer dogs but the answer to your question is - NO nothing has improved dog wise the streets are still full of strays and dumped puppies by the rubbish bins are being found daily.

There is nothing to stop you bringing your dog to Corfu bit it would be better off in England.

Make sure its had all its injections and is protected against Leishmania which is rife on this island and most importanly of all make sure its passported to go back to england all the time, as you never know what is around the corner and many people often have to return to the UK in a hurry for a variety of reasons. Many have to leave their dogs here because they cant get them back and if they cannot get them rehomed (which is almost impossible) then they dump them on the street too.
