Does anyone know if you have to have a certificate or be registered to become a real estate agent in corfu ?

As far as I know,  No .

No qualifictions are required,to the best of my knowledge,  anymore than here in the UK.

It just depends on their personal contacts.

Hi

I thought you had to get some sort of licence but I don't know where from.

To operate as a real estate agent you need a formal license which requires a great deal of paperwork from Corfu and country of origin, and signatures from authorities, approval from the Chamber of Commerce etc. Needless to say, it is exceptionally difficult for foreign nationals to get this, even EU citizens.

1. There are already far too many estate agents, most of them in no way qualified (though they may have a license despite this - don't ask). This is called the 'knicker shop syndrome' i.e. when someone does something new and innovative, and is a success, everyone else thinks they can get a slice, not realising that they are not actually generating any new business, but only stretching out what business exists. There is only so much lingerie you can wear at a time.

Do please think of something original. Remembering if someone else has thought of it, it is already far too late.

I was just asking a question, not thinking of being the next Bridgfords or Halifax....

but I disagree "competition is good" it keeps the prices low !!

If Bridgfords or Halifax are supposed to be the pinnacle of Estate Agency in the UK then I have to agree with Corfiot Mag - not the most original idea in the world!
