We went this May and again in September/October and nothing has increased in price Except tobacco which is regulated by the government ie Golden Virginia was 6 euros in May is now 6.20 and Assos red was 2.20 and is now 2,45(but luckily we found some old stock at the pre-increase price).
The price stability has probably been helped by the reccession as there are fewer holidaymakers to go round and nobody can afford to lose custom by putting their prices up.
And my vote on where to go will always be Kassiopi of course(but dont tell anyone ).

Our sis and brither in law have a place in spain and were shocked by the massive price increases there . they did 7 days at our place and firsy night I got a text to say they were amazed what they had just paid for a meal in our local taverna for 4 adults and 4 kids admittedly only pizzas souvlakis and drinks inc 3 drinks each for the kids was 60 euros . they went back the following night and went thro the "card"100 euros for all . The only time they did have a windge about the prices was when they went to Paleo and were shocked at the difference lunch cost them 170 euros which was basoically snacks .Admttedly the village where our greek home is isnt over commercial (we got sunbeds now)but shows what the locals pay btu they all were amazed after going to spain and guess what ? they want to go back to corfu .Surprise i wasnt

I was in Kassiopi in May and again end Sept/Oct, I thought that prices were pretty much level between the two visits.
I think the taverna, restaurant and bar people work very hard to give their visitors a good time and value for money.
I have just come back from a weekend in Surrey and I still think it is much more difficult to get value for money there. Mostly prices are high for indifferent, pre-prepared food, and service so much less personal and pleasant than in Corfu.

We all hear reports of extortionate prices as the less astute businesses penalise their loyal customers for the lack of trade from the rest. In most resorts, however, prices have not risen for some time in spite of increases in the cost of fresh ingredients which business owners themselves choose to absorb. Costs to tourists may not have risen, but profits have shrunk dramatically and I know several people who employ staff who will make little or nothing for themselves this year.

If I am served good food at a reasonable price then I always leave a larger tip.
I believe in being fair to people who are fair with us I have NEVER had any cause to complain in Kassiopi.

No one round where I live (Hertfordshire) cares if you return to their restaurant again, having just spent the best part of £80 for some microwave technician to slap something on a plate. Why is it so difficult for some countries?
