Bob and Wendy
Instead of wallpaper, have you concidered ragging or sponging to give a paterned effect?
Just a thought.
By the way, if you have flat plasterboard walls with filled feather edges (dry-lining), if the filler is not perfect, then the imperfections are accentuated with flat wallpaper.

Hi Bob,
The filler is not perfect!! the problem was I did this in the summer and thought i had done not a bad job!!In day light it looks fine, People even commented (you have made a good job of the tapeing).Only to realise when you put on lights on dark nights oh dear. So its 25watt bulbs for now and I will try and make a better job later. Know what you mean about flat wall paper,I would need some heavy embossed kind. But hay not a bad job for a plumber and nursery nurse!!

You could paint the walls with thicker paint - ask for 'relief paint'....not quite as thick as the stuff they artex with - but can still get a bumpy pattern out of it.

Thank you Bob & Heather for your replies, even if they were a little sidetracked from the initial request for a wallpaper table. As an artist, I HAVE rag-rolled many patterned designs in the past to professional standards, but I am intent on wallpapering one feature wall ( & NO THERE IS NO DAMP) so don't let's go down that cul-de-sac again.
I guess this is the end of this topic as nobody has arrived at a satisfactory answer. I guess I'll make one and then hire it out.!!!! lol

Hi Beach Boy. The first sensible reply I've had. I've got the paper, heavy duty (and expensive) also the paste. It's the table I need.Let me know when you're here. Cheers BB....JohnD

I thought my answer was a sensible solution to your problem,as it's been proved and tested many times by us albeit in the UK.
Another sensible or not so sensible solution might be a kitchen work top as a pasting table
