The one I listen to most,is Atakakai Epi Toupo,by Dousika,though there is another song,Signomi something or other,cant remember the full title,that I heard,when i first went to Corfu,in 1992,and haven't heard since.I cant remember the tune,all i can remember,is that,whenever i heard it,i had to stop,and listened to it!
I've asked all sorts of people,in music shops,and i've even asked musicians,but no one knows,perhaps i imagined it,bobbo
Yep, that is a good track by Doukissa! The best one on the album, I'd say.
I'm gonna stick my neck out and suggest that the other song you mention is probably Signomi Yia Tin Amina by George Dalaras - it came out in 1992 and is from the album of the same title....
Thanks,jimj40,that will give me something to do,when I got time, cheers, bobbo

Would it be this one Bobbo signomi by Antonis Remos. i often play greek music whilst i read the threads, youtube is awash with great songs from greece
That's actually En Mediteranée by Georges Moustaki (a non-Greek speaking Franco-Greek and ex-lover of Edith Piaf). He's one of the best French singers ever and he sings it a lot better than Dalaras does (and I say that even though I'm a great fan of Dalaras).

Bringing up an old thread here I know, but I went with a group of us to a concert at the Corfu stadium, next to the airport, on saturday night to see Michalis Hatziyiannis (best spelling I could do), one of Greece's top pop stars of the moment. Excellent, great fun and a lot of Brits there. He's extremely talented, sings and plays his own music, great with the crowd and very entertaining. Well worth seeing, it was absolutely packed there and we had a great evening.

How fabulous ! Yes he is a great singer, he performed in the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Athens in 2004. I bet there would have been loads of Greek people that would have loved to go but had to work on Saturday night.
I'm so jealous wish I could have been there !

Bringing this thred back to life again...This song alway brings tears to my eyes when leaving Greese...This song is sung live with one of the greats of Greek music...And a pleasure to see live at the Acropolis in Athens a few years ago..Chris
