I love the soundtrack from the Greek film A Touch of Spice, in turn haunting and melancholy, uplifting an exuberant - highly recommended

The one I listen to most,is Atakakai Epi Toupo,by Dousika,though there is another song,Signomi something or other,cant remember the full title,that I heard,when i first went to Corfu,in 1992,and haven't heard since.I cant remember the tune,all i can remember,is that,whenever i heard it,i had to stop,and listened to it!

I've asked all sorts of people,in music shops,and i've even asked musicians,but no one knows,perhaps i imagined it,bobbo

Yep, that is a good track by Doukissa!  The best one on the album, I'd say.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and suggest that the other song you mention is probably Signomi Yia Tin Amina by George Dalaras - it came out in 1992 and is from the album of the same title....

You had me racking my brains there!  It's Politiki Kouzina in Greek and I absolutely agree, it's a lovely soundtrack and an amusing film.  While we're on the subject of soundtracks, I don't think there's anything to beat the Stou Othona Ta Xronia. Every track is a corker!

If I had to pick a single track encapsulating Greece for me, it would have to be Gounaris singing Ena Vradi Pou'vrehe

Haris Alexiou has to be my favourite, she has in my oppinion the most hauntingly beautiful voice.  I first heard one of her CD's in Rhodes, I now have 3 and play them whenever I need my Greek fix

We have a cd of Greek music called "Who Pays the Ferryman" or something similar.  i wouldn't say it is a favourite, but I did enjoy it blareing out from the speakers on the bike as I rode up to San Stephanos from the ferry

Linda2, who cares how he sings...have you seen Marios Frangoulis? Easy on the eyes and the ears, although i admit i dont listen to much opera.  These days i have no choice but to listen to what's blasting out of the kids bedrooms...there's some really good Greek pop music, although i moan at them i do rather like it.  The Greek children tend to listen to the Greek and the UK charts.

Hi Onetwin,

Yes - I've seen him alright! (but I'd like to point out that his amazing good looks have had no effect whatever on my viewpoint!)

Linda
