Just spent a frustrating week trying to find a flight to Manchester that didn't cost the best part of 1000 euros (yes, that's THREE zeros!).

So my options now are to a) give up or b) grab hold of the wing as it takes off :D

What's the likelyhood of me getting a standby flight over here? It's just me on my own, so there's bound to be an empty seat somewhere, isn't there?

Any opinions welcome - I'll go camping on the green outside with the strays on Monday morning :D

When do you want to travel?? You can book one way flights from Corfu via Thomas Cook

Have you given the travel offices in the resorts a try?

They quite often have a 'leg' available; but I'm not so sure if it is as easy this time of year.

PS Our roof looks great, doesn't it!

There is a flight on Tuesday night/wednesday morning at £228 with www.thomsonfly.com

A bit expensive for a single.

Yeah, tried all the usual suspects - either really expensive and at silly hours, or just none at all.

I don't know why, but there seems to be a real problem with getting flights both to and from Corfu. It's not a bank holiday or the last week before the kids go back to school or something is it?

Saw a cheap flight MAN->CFU, but it was XL. Not worth the risk IMO :S

You could always go Corfu-Gatwick with BA then bus , train or flight up to Manchester, 474 Euros departs Tuesday!!

Hi,

I can't see when you want to go.  Did you not say?  There is a flight for £116 on 26 Sept and another for £142 on 3 Oct (www.skyscanner.net)

It is all incredibly expensive at the moment wherever you are flying to.  Could you take a ferry and then pick up an Easyjet or Ryanair flight?

I got a taxi for someone to go to the airport, to go back to the UK with no booking...........and they waited for about 3 hours in the airport & straight home standby!!   This was this time exactly - last year.

I would assume though, you would be best trying it on a Monday or Friday when there are lots of flights.
