You'll be most welcome to kiss him,  I'm certainly not doing it!!

They say here in Corfu, that if you touch a toad............ you get covered in a rash!!!   (not going to see if that's true)

Just hope frogs legs or toad in the hole wont be on the menu!

He could be your mascot! I cant get over the size of it!

PS. Had a email of Aris at Joannas, he will be opening soon, tomorrow I think!

Some toads do secrete a fluid that causes a rash if you touch them.

I picked one up once, well, helped it into a bucket and then took it to a safe shady spot.  I don't mind picking up frogs but like yours, this toad (also on Corfu) was huge so I wore gloves!  I am glad he didn't do big hops like frogs do, I would have screamed even though I am not scared of them!

I have to admit that is the one thing I am worried about. We saw a snake last year when clearing some of the garden. They really freak me out!!!

Gorgeous toad though!!!

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your couraging words !
I do know it is more the fear than the reality......since my first visit 1980 have seen more flat ones than a live. But also one very blue and fat, and not a dream after a night out!!
Last week in Corfu avoided all kind of snakes but did not make any walks in woods, just cyckling. But that was very nice too !!

Rocky went to spray the vines in our garden around 7pm this evening and met up with not one but 4 snakes basking in the evening sunshine!  In the absence of a big stick, or the energy to run away (it's been sooo hot today) he gave them a quick squirt with the insecticide.  OK, probably not the best thing to do when faced with something potentially dangerous, but it did the trick and they left him to his grapes!!

Bill
