I have just bought an apartment in Acharavi and am due to pop over in March to sort out buying furniture etc. Can anyone help me with where to go, preferrably local and if they do not deliver, someone who has a van?

Thanks

Hello Soulla

We recently bought some furniture at Epiplomania at Gouvia. It is German owned, and the service from them was excellent. Not only did they deliver our huge wardrobe, which was flatpacked, for a small charge they assembled it for us. They even cleaned up the mess from the packing! The boys who came were both polite and helpful.

Their prices were the best we could find in Corfu, and the quality was good. Give them a try.

It depends on your taste and what you like

There's a beautiful shop in the middle of Acharavi I just love it has mostly Spanish furniture.

Hi 2Tonsils

Can you gave me more details as to where Epiplomania is in Gouvia. Is it near the big supermarket ABC ?

I just love Italian furniture maybe we should start up a list as to where different shops are in Corfu.

Acharavi- if you like Spanish s
Gouvia - if you like German      I'm taking it that the shop has German furniture?   and so on ... make a good day out shopping.

I'd highly recommend Ebenos, which is on the road from Corfu Town to Gouvia. About half a mile on the left hand side as you leave Corfu Town. We bought most of our furniture there, indoor and outdoor. Domas Italia also had some good stuff. Carry on the same road almost past Gouvia and Kontokali again on the left. For small bits and pieces we also found Orient very good opposite Expert shop.

I would also reommend Epiplomania - they deliver and assemble with no fuss and clean up.  Nice furniture and not expensive.  Very amenable staff.

Hi all

This is my first time on the forum. I was so excited I had four replies!

Epiplomania sounds popular, may have to give them a go. I am planning on bringing sheets, towels ets from the uk. Do you think its cheaper buying in corfu? I think roseannes idea is great, about starting up a list of shops, i know i would definately use it, for when i go over in March. 8 weeks to go, or shall i say 56 sleeps!!!

Do you guys live in corfu or just holiday there?

hi Soulla, We had most of our furniture from a shop  on the main road at Karrousades, in between avliiotis and Sidari, 10 minutes from where you are going to live, the owner is a lovely old fellow he gave us a good price and would not accept any money off me for curtain poles we have needed since, the locals told us about him, and they all use him themselves, its on a bend and built into the hillside, big white van usually outside

linen here is about the same as uk, we had a hotel in Blackpool so we had surplace of  stuff when we closed it down,  my only regret is that we did,nt bring light fittings i find them very expensive here, but choice is improving this past 12 months, good luck to you,
