I am thinking of moving to Corfu this year. depends when our house is sold. Can anyone inform me if Corfu is a good place to start a business ? ok, I know it depends what it is...but are there opportunities still in Corfu to make money ? Any help would be great. Thank you. Budapestman

If you can come up with a good way of making money in Corfu, you would have one good clear year to make your maximum profit, after that there would be someone copying your business idea in every village and town, and every street corner in Corfu Town.

The Greek people are incredibly quick learners when it comes to making money.

Hi Budapestman. I think after all the research I have done for my move to Corfu .... 'making money' isn't something I would link with Corfu. Even the Corfiots relying on the tourist trade are struggling and I agree with Bob and Wendy, if you were able to come up with something different your lead on the market would be very short lived.

Only my opinion but I don't think Corfu is the ideal place for the Entrepreneur!

The very short answer to this is ..............NO !

You can survive if you are clever or if you bring a pot of gold with you .

BUT this is NOT Spain .......but been here 20 years now so it must be OK and a better life than the UK ..............so welcome to Corfu and enjoy !

ps. the summers are something to die for .....so HOT !

you have lived in greece for 20 years now bet you have a nice tan lol.

i am planning on moving out in july after i finish college my parents are moving in april, we are looking at moving some where central because of myself and my sister finding work but just one question i have which i cant seem to find any imformation out about at all is what is the beautician buisness like in corfu, i am training to be beautician so that would be my main look at work if not i have had a couple years of bar work expirience so for the first summer im not realy that worried, but after i would like to get back into my trade can you help me or give me any advice about work?

Hi Cherie. Just a thought but initially maybe applying to the hotels with beauty salons on the island? I just typed in 'beauty salons corfu greece' and it gave quite a few hotels that have them.
